I have to read a new one. Of course, this excuse might just be "The Worst Excuse Ever", easily topping the old "the four year old seduced me" and of course the "I didn't think it was wrong" excuses. Terence James Greenwood, is a freak of nature. A scum bad, a sorry excuse for a waste of mass shaped into the form of a man- while never having the morals, heart or decency of one. The 62 year old was arrested after an alert mother called and questioned him concerning a situation with her 5 year old daughter than had been in his Sunday school class. After confirming her fears- Greenwood admitted to her that he'd at least 'exposed himself' to the child, she contacted police who interviewed Greenwood. He then admitted that he'd molested the child... but had the balls to attempt to excuse his behavior by blaming it on.... his blood pressure. A Sunday school teacher who was arrested on suspicion of molesting a 5-year-old girl at a Phoenix-area ...

Or whatever bull they are wanting to call it this week. But, when First Baptist Church of Jeffersontown decided to take on this act of stupidity- they evidently didn't have much regard for the possible outcome. Kenneth Brightman, had a record of sexual assault, but was allowed to move into a home owned by the First Baptist Church of Jeffersontown. Brightman volunteered at the church, often working with children. The bigger problem arose when Brightman's neighbor decided to be open hearted and invited him over to share in a Thanksgiving dinner. The man had once been homeless and now lived nearby, in a home owned by the church down the street from her house. She says it was in that tidy white house on Old Taylorsville Road that the crime happened. "From what she said, he grabbed her arm and pulled her all the way over there," the victim's mom told WAVE 3. "He wouldn't let her leave. That's where the rape took place." "He loved her." That might have been Jeff Banks best defense of his client, but in the end it doesn't hold water. His client, a former priest who viciously attacked a woman in his church office was sentenced to 4 to 12 years in state prison in connection with the attack . Prosecutors dropped other charges, including attempted murder, sexual assault and kidnapping, that could have resulted in a sentence of life in prison with parole. The duration of his sentence hinges on whether he is approved for parole. In court Thursday, Chaanine denied he sexually assaulted the woman and offered an apology and a rambling statement about his feelings for her before he was led from the courtroom in handcuffs, court information officer Michael Sommermeyer said. Don't even get me started on how I feel on this one... Months after Catholic priest Alan Placa was accused of sexually molesting three children, Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani hired Placa, his longtime friend, to work in Giuliani's consulting firm. Although, you can be sure that this pretty much confirms I won't be voting for him... ever.

While I seen the news- first about the jury feeling deadlocked on the second charge and then about the guilty verdicts, I just didn't have the time to log on and post. He is also charged in Arizona with being an accomplice to incest and sexual misconduct with a minor for arranging marriages between two underage girls and relatives of theirs. Today he was found guilty of two counts of being an accomplice to rape.

The craziest things pop up on the internet sometimes ( via foxnews )... A prison security video showing guards struggling to enter a cell where a convicted killer was strangling a defrocked pedophile priest has turned up on the Internet. State prison officials were investigating how the 10-minute video, shot from outside former Roman Catholic priest John Geoghan's cell during his slaying, made it onto YouTube. The video was posted last month and may have been brought to the Boston Herald's attention by Joseph Druce, who was convicted in January of killing Geoghan at the Souza-Baranowski maximum security prison in August 2003. I happen to be overly open to the idea that anyone can be a pervert. I've read too many cases, talked to too many people to ever believe that any group of people can be exempt from having a bad apple within their clan, friends, or fellow professionals. And, I've read a few hundred too many reports on the merits of so called religious men to believe that being a priest or religious leader means that one can't also be a pedophile. Oddly enough, there are still people that will hear allegations against a church leader and refuse to believe that their humble priest could ever do wrong. If I had a penny for every time I heard or read "he is such a good (fill in priest, rabbi, bishop, elder etc), he just couldn't have done this" I'd be "lost in somewhere warm sunny, and peaceful" rather than Lima, Ohio.
