Patrick Lee Kenney might want to consider finding a new hobby to fill his time for the next six years, for at least two good reasons. First- his latest hobby isn't really one that he can continue from prison. Second, his hobby- text messaging a 12 year old girl- is sort of what got him sentenced to jail in the first place. Prosecutors said 29-year-old Patrick Lee Kenney also pleaded no contest to attempted sexual abuse and furnishing obscene material to a minor. Kenney met the girl on the MySpace site. The girl's mother accidentally saw the text messages and gave the phone to Klamath County sheriff's deputies, who continued the text chat with Kenney. Full story. Cmdr. James Mattingly might have displayed self control and dedication in his career- but online, he showed a bit more of his true colors. Mattingly was arrested after a task force tracked him down from a site that sold child porn. Law enforcement has said that Mattingly was purchasing porn 'in packages' which ranged from costing $79 to $99. When arrested, hundreds of images and videos were found which contained child pornography. He had hundreds of sexual pictures and video of pre-pubescent children, some clearly in pain from the rapes, prosecutors said. "This is a personal, psychological issue of great importance to him, but which did not impact on or have anything to do with his duties as a commander in the Navy," defense attorney Brook Hart said. A sexual offender spending 90 days in jail provides overwhelming proof that just as a cat can't change it's stripes, a sexual deviant can't be cured with a few months in jail. Christopher Dwayne Watson has been locked up in the Malheur County Jail for the past 90 days for a sex crime with a minor. Erin Landis with the Malheur County District Attorney’s office tells NewsChannel 7 that sheriff's deputies found a list titled "people to look up," written by Watson. The list contains the names of various children ages 6 to 17, and also includes the victim in the case he's now serving time for. Police say the list was detailed with information about the children, providing "everything short of an address to look these girls up". But wait, it gets worse. Brooke Bennett had told her uncle that she was suppose to meet a friend to go visit someone sick in the hospital. But, after Brooke failed to return home, her family's questions about the meeting seemed to lead them no where. Now, it is believed that the 12 year old made the story up in order to meet up with a man she meet on the internet and police are searching for any information that may lead to finding her. Surveillance camera footage from the Cumberland Farms store showed Brooke being dropped off by her uncle and cousin, who drove off, according to Covell. The footage showed Brooke walking away from the store by herself, he said. That was the last time she was seen. For years, Carvlin served as coach of an under-17 club made up of kids from Green Tree, Castle Shannon and Dormont. He is also a Boy Scout leader in Dormont. And now, he's an arrestee. Michael Lee McBeth isn't just lacking patience, he's also lacking that little bit of brain cells which prevent people from being sickos. Police say that McBeth has been arrested after having sexually explicit conversations with an undercover officer who he believed was just 12 years old. According to a press release from Attorney General Tom Corbett, McBeth allegedly used a chat room to approach an undercover agent who was using the online profile of a 12-year-old girl. Almost immediately, Corbett said, McBeth asked the girl, "would you let a guy see you nude?" A criminal complaint also states that McBeth sent the undercover agent a sexually explicit photograph and engaged in sexually graphic discussion, detailing what he was interested in. Special agents from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested a suspected pedophile photographed sexually abusing young boys in Southeast Asia after Interpol issued a global request for help. If Robert Chouinard was attempting to set a new record, he missed his mark. Police say that the internet sting- which can take months to complete- lasted a surprising short time thanks to Chouinard's aggressive and explicit behavior during the sting which lasted less than a week before he was arrested... but was no winner. CBS 11 News cameras were there as the 45-year-old was walked into Fort Worth Police Department headquarters in handcuffs. Just one hour earlier Chouinard was arrested at an undisclosed location, where he had agreed to meet what he thought was a 13-year-old girl. Since it seems like the MySpace 'fad' isn't going to go away anytime soon- and more than likely your child or a child you know has an account, there's a suggestion floating around that you might want to consider. We all know that online predators are out on the web in every one of the places that our kids will want to be- it's just in their deviant nature. Detectives said 63-year-old Gerald Kang from Hoquiam brought his computer, to a repair shop recently where the repairman discovered child pornography on the machine and called police. OF course, Kang declared this all a misunderstanding, and is going all out in with his imaginative defense. “Whoever sent the pictures is not necessarily a child," said Kang, who is currently charged with one count of child pornography. Matthew Clinton Bynum, 23 is currently being sought by police for allegedly luring young girls he met online to meet with him, and then sexually assaulting them. The warrant includes 8 felonies: five counts of sexual assault on children pattern of abuse, two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and one count of Internet luring. While police have not said how many victims are involved, they did offer that it was "multiple cases" and provided other information on the suspect: But he did release some information about Bynum in hopes that residents will help authorities locate him. Stop the ACLU has a post up on one the the ACLU's very own- their pride and joy, a former Virginia’s American Civil Liberties Union top dog, and child porn downloader , who was recently sentenced. This wasn't just a naked child here or there in a few files, according to the judge the child porn Charles Rust-Tierney downloaded was sickening to say the least. The judge called it: the most perverted and nauseating and sickening type of child pornography" she had seen in 10 years on the bench. And: "The child pornography you purchased was of the most abhorrent kind," And: that "the term 'child pornography' does not convey the depravity" of the images that were downloaded. Almost everyone knows what Craigs List is- but for those that don't, it was one mans answer to putting classified ads online. While the idea is appealing- and was ahead of it's time by years and years... it's also been a bit of a problem as people began using the free service as a way to participate in criminal activity.
