NEW YORK — A fugitive fashion writer wanted for questioning in a bizarre sexual attack in New York slashed himself in the neck with a knife after he was confronted by police on a college campus in Tennessee, police said. Peter Braunstein, 42, was spotted by a woman on the campus of the University of Memphis, who recognized him from media reports of his efforts to evade New York authorities, police said. She called campus police, who caught up with Braunstein and stopped him, according to NYPD spokesman Paul Browne. "He said, 'I'm the person you're looking for,' and he stabbed himself three times in the neck," Browne said. Braunstein was hospitalized in critical condition, police said. New York police had been hunting since early November for the freelance journalist, once a writer for Women's Wear Daily. David Ludwig, the 18 year old who murdered his 14 year old girlfriends parents, will be facing the death penalty when he goes to trial. Charges against him in the kidnapping of Kara Beth Borden have been dropped, although new charges have been added. Those charges include a firearms violation, sexual assault, and reckless endangerment. No charges against Borden, who the District Attorney for Lancaster believes went with Ludwig willingly, will be filed. "There was no plan or no agreement to harm her parents in any way," Totaro said. Even with broken bones, and claims that the abuser could not be indicated, the judge willingly overlooked what would be in the best interest of this child. Okay, I may be spinning it just a tad in the title- but watching the Apprentice tonight, I was shocked to see that the benefit was suppose to be for the Elizabeth Glaser pediatric AIDS foundation, yet, YAHOO repeatedly asked that the chick not ask their VIP party goers for donations. This was a bit surprising since the whole event was named "Yahoo! All-Star comedy benefit for the Elizabeth Glaser pediatric AIDS foundation" Just what does Yahoo think a benefit is suppose to be for? These where all pretty well to do people attending, and Yahoo didn't feel it was a good idea to raise money for the Aids Kids? How demented is that? What, is Yahoo afraid that a few thousand bucks going to help children with a horrible sickness might take a bit too much money from their own overflowing bank accounts? Shame on you Yahoo People. The other day, as I was getting ready to leave, I took half a moment to glance at the news. A story caught my eye of a little 12 year old girl that has gone missing. It was an odd sounding story- a young girl last seen sleeping on her couch, disappears without a trace. What bothered me even more, was that her stepfather had since been arrested on an unrelated domestic violence charge. It wouldn't be the first time some creep had a violent charge against him, but the fact that he actually had time to acquire one, when he should have been doing what any parent in his position would have done- BEEN OUT LOOKING FOR THE CHILD, bothered me. UPDATE ON CASE HERE Somewhere along the way something terrible has happened. Somehow we have lost the respect we once willingly gave freely. It's become okay for society to bash those fighting for our country, become acceptable for state services to overlook the needs of a soldiers family, and now- evidently it has become okay to kill our own heroes. A few days back, I was watching the news when some idiot started talking about the holiday season that is upon us. They were defending the whole fight about Christmas, because according to them, this is not the Christmas season- it is the holiday season and therefore it was a time for all people to celebrate the season. Hum. And then, the other day, in my own paper- some other idiot said Christmas was an American Holiday. And should be celebrated by all Americans. Hum. So, I'd like to explain a few things to the ACLU, the leftist nut jobs, and the person here locally. Christmas is about, well Christmas. It celebrates the birth of Jesus. Those who believe Jesus was who he really was- celebrate this time as a day of remembrance, of thanksgiving for the life he sacrificed in order to save us.
