Sometimes I think SOME of America's judges are down right thoughtless. And so every so often- I read the rest of the world's news. Just to bring it back into my head that our judicial system isn't the only one allowing people who completely lack common sense to hand out ignorant rulings on heinous criminals. Today's winner of complete stupidity comes from Scotland. Where for some reason I imagined it being a bit more discerning in its sentencing. I was wrong. Take note of the twenty four years of committing sexual child abuse among numerous children and weigh that with the ten years of actual prison time. Something just isn't adding up.

A SERIAL child molester has been jailed for ten years after a judge condemned his 'catalogue of abuse of the most horrible and appalling kind'.
Alexander Stewart, 60, sexually abused six girls and boys during a 24-year period of ruthless exploitation.
The High Court in Edinburgh heard that Stewart would turn to molesting children after he had been drinking.
Lord Wheatley told him: 'It is clear from what I have been told that for a period of over 20 years you tortured them for your own gratification.'
The judge also ordered that Stewart should serve an extended sentence for a further five years, when he will be kept under supervision and can be returned to prison. Lord Wheatley pointed out he was concerned that the sex offender had shown 'very limited remorse'.
Stewart, a former steel fixer, was earlier placed on the sex offenders' register after admitting six charges of indecent behavior towards children, which occurred between 1967 and 1991.
His first victim was abused from the age of four and she was forced to perform sex acts on him at houses in the Muirhouse and Clermiston areas of Edinburgh.
Lord Wheatley told Stewart that if he had been convicted of the offences after trial, instead of pleading guilty, he would have jailed him for up to 15 years."

On another note... a former church volunteer at Annunciation Catholic Church in downtown Houston pleaded guilty to molesting three brothers over ten years while working at the church. We must wonder how many more there truly are out there that he was able to victimize. In court he was faced by one of the boys, who very justifiably told him to "rot in hell". Stuart Murphy was fired in March after his arrest. Murphy had previously been employed as a Catholic school teacher. Murphy, however was sentenced to a period of 30 years for the acts which he committed against the three boys, although I am sure that this shouldn't reflect one bit on the most publicized "church of pedophiles", that seems to have broken off from the Catholic religion and various others far enough to find years of child abuse perversly written into its doctrines. I have heard of few receiving such lengthy sentencing compared to the rather low amount of known victims.
This is not a problem limited to the Catholic faith in any means- we are just more likely to hear about those that happen at a Catholic Church than any other. What these leaders, teachers, volunteers do is a complete insult to those that find faith in the teachings of Catholics, or any other religion in which they snake their deviant ways into. I am sure the the Church of Pedophiles has many members within every religious affiliation, and I find it most appalling that they freely use the cloak of faith to hide their perverse desires and prey upon the many young members of these religions. It is a direct insult to the very reason in which one turns to their faith... God.
