Many following the horrific story of Joseph Edward Duncan III have felt from the beginning that his story did not start, and would not end with the unsettling case in Coeur d'Alene. Reading his blog has given many insight to the terrorist thoughts that flowed from his demented mind. It's the passage where he speaks of getting even that sent many cybersleuths, bloggers, and casual inquirers cold chills. Knowing the story- or bits of it- of the Groene family upon whom Duncan unleashed his demons only lead many to believe that out there- there would be many more victims. The words haunted us ".............My intent is to harm society as much as I can, then die..........All those years I dreamed of getting out...And getting even. Instead, I got out and I got even, but did not get caught. So, I got even again, and again did not get caught. So, I figured, well, I got even twice (actually more, but that's here nor there), even if I'm the only one who knows, so now what............" Just how many? Was he merely bragging, making claims to something he truly had not done- or was he confessing in his own sick way? Looking as closely as one could at the Groene case, it all seemed to rehearsed, to well planned for someones first attempt. The stalking, the night vision goggles, the lack of clues to who the culprit was... it become had to fathom that this was his first violent gruesome crime- and yet the thought that he had been able to do this before and get away with it was even more terrifying.
And then the stories began to leak out among much speculation from bloggers, web slueths, crime buff's, the national media,- really the list goes on and on. For many we would rather that he be responsible for every unsolved crime against children. Because currently we have him locked up and it would give us a sense of safeness knowing the one responsible would not be roaming free. It's easier to imagine one demented man than hundreds. No one ever really believed him to be guilty of all of them- just a likely candidate for many.
Then, we heard the news. Duncan had admitted to the much speculated case of a Riverside California boys kidnapping and disappearance. STORY HERE
And now, another one is finally answered.

"....The source, who demanded anonymity, said Duncan admitted he killed Sammiejo White, 11, and Carmen Cubias, 9, when they disappeared after leaving their north Seattle motel room July 6, 1996.
Law enforcement officials, who are under a gag order because of potential federal prosecution of Duncan, would not confirm what Duncan allegedly told the FBI, nor would they deny he said it.
The girls left the room to buy cigarettes, published reports at the time said. Their skeletal remains were found in a Bothell construction site in February 1998.........
Earlier this week, public records showed Duncan was in the Seattle area in July 1996, living about three blocks away from the motel where the girls were living.
Police searched the area after the girls were reported missing.
About 19 months later a transient led police to three leg bones and a foot bone scattered at a construction site.
Four days of searching the site uncovered about 70 bones.
Key to the identification of the girls' remains were dental records, which determined a skull with teeth, and a jaw with a partial set of teeth belonged to the missing girls.
Police did not say how the girls died, but listed the cause of death as homicide....."

Sammiejo, wearing a yellow long sleeve turtleneck sweater, white T-shirt and blue jeans, and Carmen, in a black T-shirt and pink stretch pants, were last seen at about 8:30 p.m. July 6, 1996 reportedly in the company of an older brother. They were staying with their mother, Margaret Delaney, at the Crest Motel in the 14100 block of Aurora Ave. N. in north Seattle. Delaney came home at 10 p.m. that night, spent several hours looking for her daughters, then reported them missing to Seattle Police at 2 a.m.
In the following weeks, people believed they'd spotted the two in downtown Seattle and Tukwila. Then, just two weeks ago, a transient led a Bothell officer to three leg bones and a foot bone scattered at a construction site. After four days searching the muddy field, crews had found about 70 bones, including a skull with teeth, and a jaw with a partial set of teeth. Dental records were key in determining the remains' identification, Woolverton said, adding that the girl's stature, age and clothing helped, too. Delaney declined to talk to reporters. Police don't know whether the two girls ran away and met their demise, or were abducted. Homicide is suspected because the girls had no medical abnormalities, and aren't believed to have died from natural causes.
