First, I feel compelled to say that I like Kentucky. Some of my fondest memories are those that involve the yearly trips we took to Kentucky as a family when I was young. Always to Louisville, always for a convention of JW's. Not the the conventions where what I enjoy remembering now- (although MOM DAD- I know I know I know.) One time we went to some old town- it was like being in the 1800's. It was just the neatest place. And I can remember staring out the windows watching as the land seemed to be stretching out to the sun, the beauty of it something I could never put into words. Watching the sun set over the rolling endless grass blades was always amazingly breathtaking. I honestly thought that Kentucky would always be the most beautiful place I could imagine. Well... even though my thoughts and memories of it will remain cherished- the whole place dropped a notch in beauty. Sorry Kentucky. But really I am a mother now... can you blame me?

A Sacramento man was sentenced to 20 years in prison for the rape and sodomy of an 8-year-old girl, but he's out on bond while his lawyer appeals the judge's decision to the Kentucky Supreme Court.
Meldrum Greg Harvey, 50, was convicted in April of first-degree rape and first-degree sodomy of a child under 12.
This week, Muhlenberg Circuit Judge David Jernigan denied Harvey's lawyer's motion for a new trial and sentenced Harvey to two 20-year prison sentences, to be served at the same time.
Harvey posted a $50,000 cash bond and was released pending the results of his appeal.
Because of the length of Harvey's sentence, his case will go directly to the Kentucky Supreme Court, bypassing the Court of Appeals.
Harvey is represented by Louisville attorney Vincent Aprile, who could not be reached for comment Friday.
Muhlenberg County Commonwealth's Attorney Ralph Vick said Harvey had an "absolute right" to appeal the judgment against him.
While out on bond, Harvey is prohibited from having contact with the child he was found guilty of raping or with any of her family members. He is also not allowed to have unsupervised contact with any girl under 12.
A jury found that Harvey "engaged in sexual intercourse" with an 8-year-old girl and "subjected (her) to sexual contact" in June or July of 2003.
Harvey is also facing a charge of distributing matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor. No court date has been set on that charge.
Yep, that clearly states that this endangerment to society is running free, out on bond. And, I must say for the first time- Kentucky has lost a little beauty. Beautiful, incredible, peaceful, breathtaking places can not have deviant sick sexual sadists running around in them. The fact that he is not allowed to have contact with any girl under the age of 12 does not in the least make me feel safer. First off... as a everyday commonly known law- you're not allowed to rape people. Doesn't seem that stopped him- so why on earth would someone believe that he is going to "obey" now? Secondly- what happens when he finds a girl a tad over 12? Am I then to believe that he -although allowed to be alone with her- will not decide to stretch his preferred age span for victims a little higher? Honestly, just what the hell is going on here? Let him sit in prison and appeal. If a jury of your peers finds you guilty... then you should be made to comprehend that you are a sick demented individual not deserving of bond in order to appeal. Why risk letting this man find a few more victims? I am not saying he isn't allowed to appeal. Only that he should be confined to a steel barred cell, locked away from the rest of the good people in Kentucky until the appeal is heard. Ya don't let him run free when you already know what type of twisted disgusting low life monster he is.
