Dangerous sex offender released from jail

If you live in Salem- you have yet another reason to find this day scary. Somehow- I can't figure out how or better yet WHY- they've released yet another dangerous sex offender.


SALEM -- A man Polk County deputies say is a dangerous sex offender is back on the streets. Larry Lee Edwards was released from jail this morning. Edwards has a 20 year history of kidnapping and rape. He was first convicted of sodomizing two 9-year-old boys in 1985.
Since then, Edwards hasbeen in and out of jail for various violations of his sex offender treatment, includes looking at child pornography on a Salem library computer. Edwards was last picked up in may after he failed to register as a sex offender with the state.

Oh good grief. As if we didn't have enough trouble with meth, let's just add in another serial pedophile. I live out in the country, and a sex offender's search turned up 3 hits within 5 miles of me. Oh yes, we should be so proud, not only are we working on being the meth capitol of the States, pretty soon we will be the leading statistic in sex offenders.

Having had the chance to look at it previously, I had always found it rather informative, and well organized. I was reading the illegal immigrant news this morning... you know, all about the Spanish National anthem... and all about their big rally May 2... and I started thinking. Jamie Rose Bolin

Jamie Bolin was last seen alive on Wednesday, while at the local library... and although she was reported missing when she failed to return home, no Amber Alert was issued until Thursday night. I understand the need to maintain certain criteria should be met when issuing an Amber Alert... I realise the importance of attempting to ensure that the public doesn't become conditioned to the alerts and slowly begin to ignore them... and yet, something in me is completely bothered that a 10 year old can go missing without people being informed of it.
