This is just not enough time

This is from my local paper. Justice was not served. 17 months. His own son.

OTTAWA — A man now living in Venedocia will spend the next 17 months in
prison after pleading guilty to two counts of attempted gross sexual imposition
with his son. Leonard O. Kroeger, 41, of 14765 Converse Roselm
Road, Venedocia, altered his plea Friday afternoon in Putnam County Common Pleas
Court to clear up a clerical error in the description of his crime. He pleaded
guilty to attempted sexual imposition on July 20, but he changed that plea to
two counts of attempted gross sexual imposition, a fourth-degree felony, on
Friday. After more than an hour of testimony from clinical and
forensic psychologist Dr. Thomas Hustak and two members of Kroeger’s family,
Judge Randall Basinger declined to sentence Kroeger to the community service
requested by his attorney, Gregory Novak. Instead, he gave Kroeger 17 months in
the Ohio Department of Correction and Rehabilitation for each count, to be
served at the same time. He must also register as a sexual
offender in the counties he works or lives in for the next 10 years.
“A parent should protect his children,” Basinger told Kroeger
during the sentencing. “The exact opposite happened here: A parent perpetrated
this felonious sexual assault.” Kroeger admitted his shame to
the actions with his son, who was 6 and 7 years old when the actions occurred.
He promised never to do them again. His attorney said Kroeger’s “sexual
confusion” played a factor in the actions, and Kroeger had since decided he was
a homosexual and should complete a dissolution from his wife next week.
“I love (my son) with all my heart, and I don’t know what harm
I’ve caused him,” Kroeger said. “I assure the court this will not ever happen
again, and it hasn’t happened in the six years since then.”
Hustak said his evaluations showed Kroeger wasn’t likely to
act as a sexual offender again, given the remorse he showed and a variety of
psychological factors. Kroeger’s case received additional
attention in April. He and a man he was living with in Allen County’s Amanda
Township moved out of a rented home on Cremean Road after receiving pressure
from neighbors. “He loves (his son) very much,” Novak said.
“He already suffered public humiliation, with the newspaper articles about this.
There was one on the bulletin board at his work. He was harassed by the Allen
County sheriff. … It’s been a difficult time for him.”

yes, so true JUSTICE WAS NOT SERVED. jUSTICE WAS DEGRADED BY SUCH AN OUTCOME. I KNOW OF THIS MAN AS MY SPOUSE WAS HIS COWORKER. THEY CAME AND ARRESTED HIM ABOUT 1 1/2 WEEKS AGO (TODAY IS 11-12-05). THE LARGE PLANT HE WORKED AT ALL FOUND OUT OR SAW HIS ARREST. WELL, AT LEAST THAT WAS A BIT OF PUNISHMENT FOR HIM. I HAVE A MASTER OF SCIENCE IN CRIMINAL JUSTICE & I HAVE WORKED IN A PRISON & AS A PROBATION OFFICER. I SAW A MULTITUDE OF CASES OF LENIENT JUDGES. AS U KNOW MOST PEOPLE IN THE COURT SYSTEM ARE PLEA BARGAINED. LOOKS LIKE THIS GUY NEEDED A JURY; THEY MIGHT HAVE GIVEN SOMETHING MORE THAN 17 MOS. I PRAY FOR SEX OFFENDER VICTIMS MORE THAN ANYTHING ELSE AS I SEE THEM AS SUFFERING THE MOST & MOST HORRIBLY HAVING THEIR LIVES RUINED. i KNOW THIS LAST SENTENCE IS BAD ENGLISH BUT THE POINT IS MADE..........>>>>>>>>> p.s. I do believe the majority of sex offenders should get life in prison. I am talking about rapists and repeat acts of sexual molestation.

He loves me, he loves me not, oh what the heck he loves me...

It seems to resemble a bit of a 3rd grade crush. Mag said first grade ... but it's really less annoying that having my ponytail pulled. He loves me... after all, he keeps linking to me . He loves me not... evidently that's why he uses my comments out of context and twists my words... he loves me, because clearly he likes to "poke the bear" (That 70's Show quote). Yes, I just referred to myself as a bear. A lot less hairy, but no less scary. Because anyone that thinks you should be locked up for the rest of your life is indeed scary. Especially when she likes to go around telling everyone how demented you are... and how she'd like to see you locked up forever. And even more scary when you know that it's the truth she speaks. And Lindsay, he is demented. And he should be locked up forever. And, well it seems that he is a fan of mine. Yep, that sick lil monkey can't help himself. He reads this here blog (which is a hint that you should share your thoughts...

Linsi E. Light

When it came on the news last night, there was very little information. Even today, although there is more coming out- there still is a rather chilling "quietness" in the details of the case. You must understand, my home town is rather small. Murders front page news. So when the second murder of the year was shuffled into the mid section of the paper this morning, without so much as a name for the victim, it seemed- well it seemed odd. It wasn't until this evening that one (out of two) local TV news stations picked it up enough for it to hit their website. What I have been able to compile so far, is that at some time last night, Lima Police received a call about a gun being shot. They arrived at 1212 Bellefontaine Ave, on the east side of Lima to find a 19 year old OSU student dead. The young woman would be identified as Linsi E. Light, a first year OSU Lima student from Montpelier Ohio , a small Ohio town with just over 4,000 residents. She apparently had been shot in th...
