Dena Schlosser

Dena Schlosser sat in court today, holding her head in her hands as her husband testified in the murder trial of their 10 month old daughter.
The child, Maggie was murdered in November of 2004. Police found the child in her home, with both arms cut off after Dena called 911.

Dena Schlosser was arrested in 2004 after she told a 911 operator she had severed her baby's arms. Police found Schlosser in the living room, covered in blood, still holding a knife.
On Monday, she slumped forward and stared at her hands as prosecutors played jurors the recording of the 911 call.
"Exactly what happened?" 911 operator Steve Edwards asked.
"I cut her arms off," Schlosser replied as a gospel song played in the background.

If convicted, Schlosser faces the death penalty oh, wait no she doesn't. Seems that after little thought the prosecutors decided not to seek the DP. Of course, like most heinous crimes, we have another child murdering parent taking the insanity plea.

For those of us that don't run around murdering our helpless children, the common thought is that someone would have to be insane to do something like that. I however, don't buy it. Some people in this world are just evil. They have no concern for human life, a lack of even the most remote amount of decency. It's just too bad there isn't some kind of test we could preform to sterilize these people before they bring begin bringing innocent children into this world to cruelly and coldly murder.

I agree with your comment about sterilizing these people before they get a change to have children to abuse, dismember or murder. I've often thought there must be a certain gene, or certain something that gets triggered in certain people causing them to commit crimes like this. If such was the case, they could identify who would be an offender early on, and prevent the crime from happening in the first place.

I was really hoping for a DP in this case. This one really got to me. I had just lost my sister and kept telling myself...Terri's in Heaven,holding and rocking this little one.I do that a lot lately,for comfort...knowing my sister,and knowing she's just loving all God's creatures there.
I think this FBO is just an evil sadist.

Florida Sex Offender Registry

Reading the news today, I was taken back to see that the Florida Sex Offender registry was being criticized. Having had the chance to look at it previously, I had always found it rather informative, and well organized. The issue that many are having with it now wouldn't be noticed by the occasional browser on the site. Which makes it even worse. A review of the FSR has found some rather unsettling statistics: The News-Press analyzed the Florida Department of Law Enforcement database of 36,306 sex offenders and found: • 9,205 of them are incarcerated • 7,037 have run away or can't be found • 824 have been deported; and • 516 are dead. Of the 15,573 sex offenders listed as released and not on parole or probation, only 11,355 of those actually live in Florida.
