Happy Blogiversary.. To Me

After 879 posts, and 365 days... we've made it. We' ve reached that all important marker in a blogs life... Lost in Lima Ohio is now a year old. 58,872 visitors... 117,550 page views... not to shabby for a little blog from a little town.

I say we, because this lil blog would be nothing without the assistance of all those bloggers who have been kind enough to link to it, from some of the first- Richard at Hyscience, Dan at Riehl World View, and of course I could never forget the grandaddy of crime bloggers, Steve at Huff's Crime Blog, to some of the bloggers who have linked, and linked, and linked again... like Trench at News of Doom, Tina at Randomized Drivel and CUG at The Conservative UAW Guy. Then there are those bloggers who just make life a little more fun for me- Sam at The Crazy Rants of Samantha Burns, and Mac at MacStansbury.org There are blogging buddies, J Rob's House of Opinions, A Rose By Any Other Name, Beyond Frazzled, Home Sweet Home, T.O. Crime, SSCAT.

Most important this blog would be nothing without it's readers, and commenters. Yep, all those Anonymous people who read and say nothing, or read and say something... and those who aren't so anonymous too:

Mike, you've always been kind and I have incredible respect for your strength and courage to fight the good fight, you have my support. Suzie, Anna, Mag, Tina, Home Sweet Home, Trench, CUG, ~Mel, Harding, Fixcat, Barn Goddess, ~Miss Lisa, Optymyst, Imahologram, MistyLT, thpunishrr, Capt. Happy Birthday, Lilo!
And folks, she is being modest. She not only has survived her first year, she not only fights the good fight, she also gets the credit/blame for getting me started. Without her assistance, Home Sweet Home would never have been born.
So Lilo, not only Happy Birthday, but a big Thank You also.

He loves me, he loves me not, oh what the heck he loves me...

It seems to resemble a bit of a 3rd grade crush. Mag said first grade ... but it's really less annoying that having my ponytail pulled. He loves me... after all, he keeps linking to me . He loves me not... evidently that's why he uses my comments out of context and twists my words... he loves me, because clearly he likes to "poke the bear" (That 70's Show quote). Yes, I just referred to myself as a bear. A lot less hairy, but no less scary. Because anyone that thinks you should be locked up for the rest of your life is indeed scary. Especially when she likes to go around telling everyone how demented you are... and how she'd like to see you locked up forever. And even more scary when you know that it's the truth she speaks. And Lindsay, he is demented. And he should be locked up forever. And, well it seems that he is a fan of mine. Yep, that sick lil monkey can't help himself. He reads this here blog (which is a hint that you should share your thoughts...

Linsi E. Light

When it came on the news last night, there was very little information. Even today, although there is more coming out- there still is a rather chilling "quietness" in the details of the case. You must understand, my home town is rather small. Murders front page news. So when the second murder of the year was shuffled into the mid section of the paper this morning, without so much as a name for the victim, it seemed- well it seemed odd. It wasn't until this evening that one (out of two) local TV news stations picked it up enough for it to hit their website. What I have been able to compile so far, is that at some time last night, Lima Police received a call about a gun being shot. They arrived at 1212 Bellefontaine Ave, on the east side of Lima to find a 19 year old OSU student dead. The young woman would be identified as Linsi E. Light, a first year OSU Lima student from Montpelier Ohio , a small Ohio town with just over 4,000 residents. She apparently had been shot in th...
