Katie Collman was ten. She had friends and family that loved her. She had a life ahead of her, a world of possibilities at her feet. Until Anthony Stockelman decided to kidnap her, molest her, and throw her into a creek to die.
Yes, the very same Stockelman that recently received a little mark of the beast upon his forehead... that now famous tattoo that has caused so much fuss.
Keep in mind that the only reason Stockelman pleaded guilty was to avoid the death penalty. Because in his cowardliness he felt his life was more meaningful than hers was. Perhaps he feared the moment that he'd meet his maker, and just wanted to prolong the inevitable as much as possible. Whatever his excuse... it's pitiful and shameful, but we really couldn't expect anything more from that sort of scum, could we?
Which brings me to this annoyance...
The nature of the offense? He killed a child. After molesting her. After kidnapping her. For his own perverted deviant desires... he took the life of an innocent 10 year old girl.
Her family searched for her for five days, while he went home each night to see his own children sleeping safely in their beds.
Mitigating circumstances? Are you kidding me? He coldly and callously molested this child, tying her hands behind her back before leaving her in a creek to die. Although after a second thought, the judge probably did fail to "consider or give proper weight to the mitigating circumstances".. this monster deserved nothing short of the death penalty.
I wonder what the chances are of having the judge increase the sentence? Cause, I could really be supportive of something like that.

A man sentenced to life in prison for molesting and murdering a 10-year-old Crothersville girl is seeking to have the time reduced.
Dustin Houchin, the attorney for Anthony Stockelman, 40, said in a brief filed with the Indiana Supreme Court last week that life without the possibility of parole is inappropriate "given the nature of the offense and the character of the offender."

Houchin argues that Jackson County Circuit Court Judge William Vance "failed to consider or give proper weight to the mitigating circumstances" that might have resulted in a lesser sentence.

I am sorry, I am being sarcastic. I have read a lot about how important 'consent' is to the other pedos, how even children should be allowed to consent. So if he was given the option of consenting, that shouldn't be a reason to prevent him from serving his time (though I would be agreeable to increasing his time also).
