Charles Schuttloffel Sr.

In 2004 Charles Schuttloffel Sr. called in a fire at his home. Inside the burning building was his three and two year old sons. The boys perished in the blaze.

Schuttloffel became a suspect shortly after the fire, Williams said because much of the evidence in the case had been burned, the arson investigation was tedious and Schuttloffel was not charged until recently.

On Wednesday, a San Mateo County criminal grand jury formally charged Schuttloffel with one count of arson and two counts of murder.

Death is off the table.
Trial set to April 17
In jail, no bond at this time.

The Beating Death Of a Child

Michael Porter was arrested Thursday for the death of his two year old stepdaughter. He is accused of striking the little girl in the abdomen earlier in the week causing blunt force trauma and inflicting deadly wounds. The little girl was described as having significant bleeding in her intestines and bruising on her ribs, the front of her chest, side and back.
