David Waser

David Waser might have once been a respected minister at the Second Church of Christ in Newark, might have been- although it's almost certain that he's not now, and wouldn't have been had his congregation members been aware of his out of church behaviors.
NBC 4- The former minister at the Second Church of Christ in Newark pleaded guilty to the receipt of child pornography Wednesday.

As part of a plea deal, David Waser could face twenty years in prison, NBC 4 reported.

According to prosecutors, last June Waser paid $130 for several child pornography videos via the Internet. Authorities said Waser actually purchased the videos from a sting operation operated by the U.S. Postal Service.

Inspectors later searched Waser's home and allegedly found all of the purchased tapes, including one in the VCR.

Police said Waser admitted to wanting to watch the tapes, and said he admitting to fondling young girls during the past 30 years.

Now, I'm all for the 20 years for the child pornography, of course- I'd be happier with more, but I know that sometimes we have to be willing to take whatever sad plea that is made. What I am concerned about, and certainly raising an eyebrow over is that he admitted to molesting young girls over the last thirty years. Does the plea deal cover this? I really hope not.

Having had the chance to look at it previously, I had always found it rather informative, and well organized. The issue that many are having with it now wouldn't be noticed by the occasional browser on the site. Which makes it even worse. I was reading the illegal immigrant news this morning... you know, all about the Spanish National anthem... and all about their big rally May 2... and I started thinking. Perhaps, just perhaps we need to stand up. It may be a really good time to remind everyone who's country this is. 12 million illegals... heh, I think we can beat that. He received $167.90 to serve on the jury. It couldn't have been an easy case to listen to. Hearing of how a 13 year old was raped by a 38 year old man who had befriended the family, it'd be enough to make most people turn in repulsion. But the juror did what he was suppose to, and long with the 11 other people who sat by his side- he found the defendant guilty. Believing that the child, who had come from a broken home- a mother battling drugs and a father who wasn't there- deserved justice, the 12 people performed their moral, ethical and judicial duty and sentenced Gregory Bryant to 30 years in prison. One would think that Bruse Funkhouser had earned that $167.90. Perhaps it would cover a small portion of the income that he lost while serving his duty to the courts.
