Donald Witt

Donald Witt sat in court and said he was "sorry", while being sentenced to 10 years in jail, and then 10 years probation.

Forgive me for being a tad unaccepting of his apology... but something tells me that curiousdaytonman, as Witt was known online, was really only sorry because he got caught.

In March 2004, Witt held the 4-month-old girl in front of his Web cam and removed her diaper, U.S. Attorney Gregory Lockhart said in a news release.

Prosecutors said U.S. customs agents began investigating after interviewing a Texas man arrested on charges of possession of child pornography. The suspect told authorities about being in an online chat room in which he saw a child held by a man using what turned out to be Witt's screen name, "curiousdaytonman."

Witt was arrested at his home last May 4. He pleaded guilty July 6 to one count of transportation of materials involving the sexual exploitation of a minor.


The thing that gets me, his wife had a daycare. We have no proof that this sick freak didn't do this before, that other children aren't victims also. We just have his word- and really, what is that worth?

Reading the news today, I was taken back to see that the Florida Sex Offender registry was being criticized. Having had the chance to look at it previously, I had always found it rather informative, and well organized. The issue that many are having with it now wouldn't be noticed by the occasional browser on the site. Which makes it even worse. I was reading the illegal immigrant news this morning... you know, all about the Spanish National anthem... and all about their big rally May 2... and I started thinking. Perhaps, just perhaps we need to stand up. It may be a really good time to remind everyone who's country this is. 12 million illegals... heh, I think we can beat that. Jamie Rose Bolin

Jamie Bolin was last seen alive on Wednesday, while at the local library... and although she was reported missing when she failed to return home, no Amber Alert was issued until Thursday night. I understand the need to maintain certain criteria should be met when issuing an Amber Alert... I realise the importance of attempting to ensure that the public doesn't become conditioned to the alerts and slowly begin to ignore them... and yet, something in me is completely bothered that a 10 year old can go missing without people being informed of it. The police believe, according to a statement released that even if an Amber Alert had been released- we'd still be faced with the same horrible end to this story... but how can they know that?
