Three Years

She was five. He was her father. She trusted him. He gave her a life sentence. She might face future infertility. He will serve three years.
The Star-
An HIV-infected dad who breached his “sacred trust” of parenthood and gave his 5-year-old daughter gonorrhea has been sentenced to three years in jail.

His little girl was “a helpless child who loved and trusted her father,” said Superior Court Justice Bonnie Croll.

There is a chance that his daughter will suffer from future infertility, the judge noted.

Last October, Croll found the 47-year-old man, who cannot be named, guilty of sexual assault causing bodily harm and the sexual touching of his daughter in July 2001.

“By passing gonorrhea on to his young daughter (he) caused her severe physical discomfort,” the judge said. Although she was “crying and screaming” with pain, he didn’t tell his wife that he had the disease, the judge said.

“Even more repulsive” was the fact that he did not divulge his having gonorrhea when asked directly by his wife, the judge said.

“Sexual assault of a child cannot be tolerated and must be denounced,” even more so when perpetrated by a parent, Croll said.

Someone tell this judge that three short years doesn't really seem to give muscle to the statement that :"Sexual assault of a child cannot be tolerated and must be denounced,”

He loves me, he loves me not, oh what the heck he loves me...

It seems to resemble a bit of a 3rd grade crush. Mag said first grade ... but it's really less annoying that having my ponytail pulled. He loves me... after all, he keeps linking to me . He loves me not... evidently that's why he uses my comments out of context and twists my words... he loves me, because clearly he likes to "poke the bear" (That 70's Show quote). Yes, I just referred to myself as a bear. A lot less hairy, but no less scary. Because anyone that thinks you should be locked up for the rest of your life is indeed scary. Especially when she likes to go around telling everyone how demented you are... and how she'd like to see you locked up forever. And even more scary when you know that it's the truth she speaks. And Lindsay, he is demented. And he should be locked up forever. And, well it seems that he is a fan of mine. Yep, that sick lil monkey can't help himself. He reads this here blog (which is a hint that you should share your thoughts...

Florida Sex Offender Registry

Reading the news today, I was taken back to see that the Florida Sex Offender registry was being criticized. Having had the chance to look at it previously, I had always found it rather informative, and well organized. The issue that many are having with it now wouldn't be noticed by the occasional browser on the site. Which makes it even worse. A review of the FSR has found some rather unsettling statistics: The News-Press analyzed the Florida Department of Law Enforcement database of 36,306 sex offenders and found: • 9,205 of them are incarcerated • 7,037 have run away or can't be found • 824 have been deported; and • 516 are dead. Of the 15,573 sex offenders listed as released and not on parole or probation, only 11,355 of those actually live in Florida. Sex offender registries can only be usefully, and only fully do what they where designed to do when they are updated, maintained and monitored continuously. When you are relying on the SO registries to monitors how safe your...
