I swear, one day parents will be required to show proof of a IQ higher than a mountain goat in order to be able to raise children, and *hopefully* that will be the end of me having to say the same things over and over again.
Parents- if you have a computer, and it has internet access then it becomes YOUR job to ensure that YOUR children are using it in a safe way. If YOU fail to provide your children with the needed amount of shelter to online threats.. then you've FAILED in your job as a parent.
There's no excuse for a 15 year old girl to be able to have 4 months of contact with some sick MySpace'er, and while his actions are of course deplorable- so is the failure of her parents to get off their asses and MONITOR what their child is doing online.
I'm not even going to get into the questions of why on earth a 15 year old girl could be lured anywhere with those sorts of deviant promises. But I am going to say that while NO ONE should be victimized in this way, regardless of how their own stupid behavior played a role in it- the parents are clearly reaping what they have sowed, and I feel not one ounce of sympathy for them. In fact, since they care so little as to monitor their child online- I sort of am shocked they were even able to pull themselves from their evidently important and busy lives to notice she was gone to begin with.

A 32-year-old man wanted on suspicion of molesting a 15-year-old Fullerton girl he met on MySpace has been arrested, authorities said.
Ansen Brown was taken into custody Wednesday in Greenville, S.C., and is being held at the Greenville County Detention Center awaiting extradition.
Police believe Brown of North Miami Beach lured the girl to South Florida with promises of helping her break into the entertainment industry.
