This week, America's Most Wanted will be highlighting the following cases: Manuel Penaloza: On the evening of October 27, 2006, Heidi was heading home from a visit with her parents in Pasadena, Calif. when her journey came to a sudden halt. Police say a vehicle in the oncoming lane crashed and Heidi got out to help the injured driver. However, her altruistic rescue attempt resulted in her being assaulted and carjacked by a 20-year-old gang member named Manuel Penaloza. Penaloza soon crashed Heidi's car and cops say he fled the scene on foot. Authorities searched Penaloza's car and knew that the investigation had only just begun when they discovered two people shot execution style in the abandoned vehicle. I know, I know... I'm a day late. While I seen the news- first about the jury feeling deadlocked on the second charge and then about the guilty verdicts, I just didn't have the time to log on and post. Thankfully, someone else did and I suggest clicking over and reading their take on the entire case. I couldn't have said it better myself. Stop the ACLU : He ruled with an iron fist say former members. He was one sicko that was hurting a lot of people. This particular trial dealt with a female forced to marry at the age of 14. He is also charged in Arizona with being an accomplice to incest and sexual misconduct with a minor for arranging marriages between two underage girls and relatives of theirs. Today he was found guilty of two counts of being an accomplice to rape.

I've always been a little undecided about having sex ed in schools. On one hand, we have parents who are barely willing to teach their children simple manners such how to wear a belt so your rear isn't visible to every person who happens to be within viewing distance of you- god knows that some of those same parents honestly see MTV as a better resource of information on sex than actually sitting down and talking to their child would be. But, on the other hand- I don't really favor the "hands on" approach of some school teachers when it comes to sex ed. It's not that I don't understand the benefit of "hands on" learn when it comes to other subjects- dissecting the frog in science gives a much better visual learning concept than just reading about each bodily organ in a text book. And Civics class would be less thrilling without the mock trials. Art class would lose appeal if children only looked at the painting of Van Gogh, rather than putting br...

The story behind how these two became of interest to police is a little far fetched if you ask me, but rather than debating the likelihood of it, or questioning why the hell he waited so freaking long before turning to police- I'm going to just quote the story ... for now. After receiving a graphic tape of a young girl being assaulted by an adult male, Nye County police need help identifying both the victim and the man. According to the news, the FBI has issued a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of Charles Hollin- who is wanted in connection to the abduction and sexual abuse of a 10 year old in Indiana. Source- Investigators say Hollin has even pretended to be a police officer, so the FBI considers him armed and dangerous. He is originally from Manchester, so he could be in that area. On January 20, 1999, a ten-year-old female resident of Seymour, Indiana, was allegedly abducted at knife point outside a local girl's club and later sexually assaulted. Timothy Iberer must have believed in the old expression "if at first you don't succeed, try try again", because police are alleging that the 27 year old convicted sexual offender broke into the bedroom window of a five year old girl at least three times before getting caught. The child's mother awoke around 3 a.m. on Sept. 10 to noises in her house and noticed her daughter's bedroom door, unusually, was closed. The mother entered, saw a man with a flashlight sitting on her daughter's bed, and she screamed. The intruder leaped out the first-floor window in the girl's bedroom , which authorities later discovered he entered by slitting the lower corners of the screen to unlock it, according to an arrest affidavit. The affidavit said the position of the child when her mother entered her room indicated that the intruder planned a sexual assault. The child was not harmed, authorities said.
