Ashley Howley

I'm combining exerts from previous posts to make this one. It's not me just being lazy again. It's the desire to help out a woman that needs to have a voice in finding her daughter. I've said before why the disappearance of a complete stranger is such a personal story- and I'll say it again. It could have been any one of us. She was bright and beautiful, full of life with a world of dreams in front of her, out on her own and trying to make something of it.

Ashley Lyn Howley, young- in fact the same age as Julie at the time (20)-called police on June 16th of 2004 to report being assulted. Later on she was known t be packing her bags and heading to a friends house. Ashley never arrived at her planned designation. Doing a search for her name you'll find only traces of evidence that this disappearance happened.Much like Julie, Ashley was young, attractive, and she was 5'4 115 lbs light brown hair with blond highlights, brown eyes. She was last know to be at her residence... ...At one point someone reached out to inform police that Ashley had been killed- to date I can fond no information on anyone ever finding her. What I did find was a message posted on a message board from what must be a mother horrified at the notion that her beautiful daughter has not come home.

"...PLEASE HELP ME FIND ASHLEY. IT'S ALMOST A YEAR (JUNE 16) I DON'T CARE ABOUT THE POLICE OR ANYTHING I JUST WANT TO BURY MY DAUGHTER.. PLEASE I CAN'T TAKE IT MUCH MORE ..."

Anyone with information on EITHER girl, should at this point no longer be reading this but RUNNING to the phone and calling Columbus police. Anyone with information that could be shared to help solve these two tragic disappearances
can send info to be posted here.

Ashley Howley- attractive, charming young woman who at 20 had a lifetime of dreams still ahead of her, and a family left heartbroken over her disappearance. Her case has become very Ashlee Howley personal to me. Not because I know her- as I never had the chance to cross paths with her. Ashley was raised by her mother Jackie, and had lived in a few various places as her mother established a home for her young children. They moved around as her step father followed his career and Ashley was cherished as any child of any mother would be. She had decided to move out on her own and found her way back to Columbus Ohio, not far from where she had once lived in Reynoldsburg with her family. But all apparent indications she was a friendly and outgoing young girl, making close friends and meeting that special someone. However, how her story would eventually end was something no one ever saw coming. At 3:13 a.m. June 16, of last year Ashley made a phone call to police to report that she had been assulted, presumably at her apartment. She refused medical treatment and informed police that she was packing up to go stay with a friend. Ashley, the pretty brownish blond girl with an unforgettable smile- never arrived at her friends. Her sister and a friend visited Howley's apartment on June 23 and found her missing, but said her car was parked in the parking lot and her dog was barking inside the apartment. Howley's car was gone by the time police searched her apartment on July 9. It would not be until fathers day- when she failed to call home- that her family would realize something was truly wrong. Even then it would take until September for her mother to be permitted to enter the apartment Ashley had rented. A month after Howley vanished, the Pontiac was found abandoned several miles from her home. It was covered in debris and the glove box was empty.

Ashley Howley, was a bright and beautiful 20 year old, exploring the world on her own with family in Mich, and her in Columbus. She was last heard from in June of 2004 when she called police to report being assulted. She refused medical attention and was last known to be packing to go stay at a friends home. She never arrived. Her family has waited for news, hoping every day to get the call that will allow them to bring her home. Although her ex boyfriend is suspected by family in her disappearance- no arrests have been made.

On the 26th of this month, Joe Mammana was joined by Beth Holloway Twitty in Columbus to meet with families of missing people in Columbus and as a keynote speaker in annual Crime Stoppers breakfast. He has he has pledged $100,000 each, for several missing persons cases in central Ohio, including Julie Popovich, Anthony Luzio and Ashley Howley.

One thing that I would hope is that his presence, along with the reward will push someone enough to step forward with information regarding Ashley. No mother should ever have to sit and wonder where her daughter is.

Just an update...
ASHLEY LYN HOWLEY, is still missing. The main POI still has not even been formally or even informally questioned.Despite the 100,000.00 reward, no one will talk and, believe me, many know what happened. I have spent countless hours putting together bits & pieces of info, calling on unidentified remains, etc... I am currently tring to get national exposure by the 2 year anniversary date, 6-16-06, some local media is on board. To the people who know where Ashley's remains are located, just think if it were you missing, and no one would come foreward...ASHLEY'S cousin, Kerry

Florida Sex Offender Registry

Reading the news today, I was taken back to see that the Florida Sex Offender registry was being criticized. Having had the chance to look at it previously, I had always found it rather informative, and well organized. The issue that many are having with it now wouldn't be noticed by the occasional browser on the site. Which makes it even worse. A review of the FSR has found some rather unsettling statistics: The News-Press analyzed the Florida Department of Law Enforcement database of 36,306 sex offenders and found: • 9,205 of them are incarcerated • 7,037 have run away or can't be found • 824 have been deported; and • 516 are dead. Of the 15,573 sex offenders listed as released and not on parole or probation, only 11,355 of those actually live in Florida. Sex offender registries can only be usefully, and only fully do what they where designed to do when they are updated, maintained and monitored continuously. When you are relying on the SO registries to monitors how safe your...

WTW Someone Please Help Us

There's so much to work with, I'm going to just hit as much as I can. Ashely Simpson decided to pick a fight at McDonald's. Betting millions that if the employee would just go and get the manager- the manager would just love her. Simpson's climbing on the counter and irate behavior where in typical White Trash Style. Great coverage at Stereogum. Tom Cruise has decidedly canned his sister for her inability to help him keep his mouth shut. Evidently he needs a real professional as his PR person- in order to keep him in line. It's just not right firing family because you're and idiot. Kate Hudson is suing someone because of photos of her in which she looks like a starving actress. She claims the images suggest she has a eating disorder- no Kate, it's not the images, it's the you. One should not sue because they have starved themselves to the point of it being noticeable in photos. Please stop by these other great sites to read more WHITE TRASH WEDNESDAY B...

$167.90

He received $167.90 to serve on the jury. It couldn't have been an easy case to listen to. Hearing of how a 13 year old was raped by a 38 year old man who had befriended the family, it'd be enough to make most people turn in repulsion. But the juror did what he was suppose to, and long with the 11 other people who sat by his side- he found the defendant guilty. Believing that the child, who had come from a broken home- a mother battling drugs and a father who wasn't there- deserved justice, the 12 people performed their moral, ethical and judicial duty and sentenced Gregory Bryant to 30 years in prison. One would think that Bruse Funkhouser had earned that $167.90. Perhaps it would cover a small portion of the income that he lost while serving his duty to the courts. Perhaps it would just give him a little extra change in his pocket. So, you might wonder what would cause Funkhouser to return the check to the court house... Members of a Pawnee County jury are upset a judge g...
