Lashuan Harris

I'm so completely appalled by this- I am lacking the words to express it. So rather than do that- here are some of the latest links to the horrifing story.

The Oakland woman accused of murder for allegedly throwing her three young sons into the bay suffered from schizophrenia "deepened'' by domestic violence, her attorney said Friday.

Lashuan Harris, 23, appeared briefly in a San Francisco courtroom at the arm of her attorney, Teresa Caffese, the chief deputy public defender. Caffese said after the hearing that her client was under psychiatric care at County Jail.

Oct 30th,

It took only two men to carry the tiny coffin of Taronta Ray Greely Jr., the little boy whose mentally ill mother allegedly threw him from a San Francisco pier with his two brothers earlier this month.

Dressed in a white tuxedo with a white teddy bear and flowers on top, the 2-year-old's body was placed in the sanctuary of the True Vine Missionary Baptist Church in West Oakland on Saturday so that family and friends could say goodbye and comfort each other.

I wonder who's idea it was to allow 3 small children to be left in the care of a homeless schizophrenic?

Florida Sex Offender Registry

Reading the news today, I was taken back to see that the Florida Sex Offender registry was being criticized. Having had the chance to look at it previously, I had always found it rather informative, and well organized. The issue that many are having with it now wouldn't be noticed by the occasional browser on the site. Which makes it even worse. A review of the FSR has found some rather unsettling statistics: The News-Press analyzed the Florida Department of Law Enforcement database of 36,306 sex offenders and found: • 9,205 of them are incarcerated • 7,037 have run away or can't be found • 824 have been deported; and • 516 are dead. Of the 15,573 sex offenders listed as released and not on parole or probation, only 11,355 of those actually live in Florida. Sex offender registries can only be usefully, and only fully do what they where designed to do when they are updated, maintained and monitored continuously. When you are relying on the SO registries to monitors how safe your...

He loves me, he loves me not, oh what the heck he loves me...

It seems to resemble a bit of a 3rd grade crush. Mag said first grade ... but it's really less annoying that having my ponytail pulled. He loves me... after all, he keeps linking to me . He loves me not... evidently that's why he uses my comments out of context and twists my words... he loves me, because clearly he likes to "poke the bear" (That 70's Show quote). Yes, I just referred to myself as a bear. A lot less hairy, but no less scary. Because anyone that thinks you should be locked up for the rest of your life is indeed scary. Especially when she likes to go around telling everyone how demented you are... and how she'd like to see you locked up forever. And even more scary when you know that it's the truth she speaks. And Lindsay, he is demented. And he should be locked up forever. And, well it seems that he is a fan of mine. Yep, that sick lil monkey can't help himself. He reads this here blog (which is a hint that you should share your thoughts...

Mom Arrested After Baby Found Mauled By Dogs

This is a story that I really don't want to share, it angers me all the while breaking my heart at how someone could be so cold and callous. My only comment is that there is always a better way. Some may of thought of going to the hospital, others may have thought about calling someone- anyone for help. But the complete disregard this person showed is horrifing. PORTSMOUTH, Ohio -- Investigators said the badly-mauled body of a newborn infant was found Tuesday afternoon on the banks of the Ohio River. The next day, the baby's 21-year-old mother was arrested after admitting to a hidden pregnancy. The mother told investigators that the baby was still-born at home. She said she panicked and disposed of the baby boy a few miles from her home, NBC 4's Erin Tate reported. The investigation began after authorities received a 911 call from a frantic mother. Dispatcher: "911, what's your emergency?" Caller: "My kids were just outside, telling me that the dog was ch...
