To ofter, our "athlete worship" interferres with the criminal investigation into sexual assaults, and persuades fans to refuse to accept that their favorite player may be a sexual predator. Weighted against the occupation of the victim in this case- we almost expect that the athlete(s) involved would be able to walk away freely from this heinous crime. It's humbling to know that both the police and the school are now taking the charges seriously in this case.
