Kenneth Glenn Hinson

CASE UPDATE 4/22
Imagine being 17. Now imagine being taken captive, held in a underground bunker- and assaulted by a convicted sex offender.
Officials say Hinson kidnapped two 17-year-old girls, brought the two victims to a space he created under a shed, tied them up, sexually assaulted them and then left them there.

Now, go ahead and tell me why these predators should continue to get second chances.

Chief Deputy Tom Gainey of the Darlington County Sheriff's Department tells News 10 that the suspect, 48-year-old Kenneth Glenn Hinson, is a registered SC sex offender and lives in Darlington County.

I'm not sure how long we'll continue to allow sex offenders to accumulate more victims, before we as a society realise that the only place these deviants belong- is behind bars.

I should note for SC readers, that at the time of writing this- Hinson's still not in custody. I know, you're just all aglow with that nice warn feeling of being completely safe right now.

After serving his previous sentence, they attempted to get him adjucicated as a sexually violent offender and keep him on more stringient controls. The judge dismissed it.
I am slowly starting to feel the same way about judges as I feel about sex offenders.

Ditto....what does it say about them when we find a good judge that we feel it necessary to applaud the right thing??? It's become so rare. Bet ya anything not one of these "judges" has ever been affected by a molesters actions.

What the hell is going on with these "judges" lately?
I swear, I think if I hear about one more of them letting these sex offenders stay free my head is going to explode! I'm so pissed off right now...
GRRRRR!!!!

And people think it can't happen in their small towns. This is horrifying and unacceptable. These sickos need to be fried in my opinion but laws have to be passed starting with HR4472 Child Safety ACT...to give them mandatory guideline sentences. Unbelievable....that this monster is still free to walk around. I can't imagine what these children endured...Thank God they escaped or they probably would be dead.

I would be reporting on this right now if my blog was not down due to blogger.com (my area is under construction i.e blogger)

Guided by practical experience and not theory, especially in medicine Kennedy hate crimes rider may doom Hatch's sex offender bill By Robert Gehrke The Salt Lake Tribune WASHINGTON - A fight over federal hate crimes legislation could torpedo Sen. Orrin Hatch's push to strengthen the nation's sex-offender registries and clamp down on sex crimes. The Senate Judiciary Committee gave quick, unanimous approval to Hatch's bill Thursday, clearing its way for consideration by the full Senate. But Sen. Edward Kennedy, D-Mass., said he plans to try to attach language to a bill that would require tougher sentences, provide federal assistance and offer grants to prosecute hate crimes - those motivated by hatred for a race, religion, gender or sexual orientation. Florida Sex Offender Registry

Reading the news today, I was taken back to see that the Florida Sex Offender registry was being criticized. Having had the chance to look at it previously, I had always found it rather informative, and well organized. The issue that many are having with it now wouldn't be noticed by the occasional browser on the site. Which makes it even worse. A review of the FSR has found some rather unsettling statistics: The News-Press analyzed the Florida Department of Law Enforcement database of 36,306 sex offenders and found: • 9,205 of them are incarcerated • 7,037 have run away or can't be found • 824 have been deported; and • 516 are dead. Of the 15,573 sex offenders listed as released and not on parole or probation, only 11,355 of those actually live in Florida. Sex offender registries can only be usefully, and only fully do what they where designed to do when they are updated, maintained and monitored continuously. When you are relying on the SO registries to monitors how safe your...
