Stephen Marshall's action are difficult to understand. No one seems to be able to say for certain what caused him to drive from his home in Nova Scotia to Maine and fatally shoot two of the States registered sex offenders.
Marshall, who shot and killed himself when confronted by police appears to have left few clues as to why he choose the two sex offenders, or why he targeted sex offenders from Maine at all.
Amazingly, I only learned about this crime while reading T.O. Crime, by Harding. He's our Canadian watchdog, keeping a keen eye out on the crimes of in the great North. Police say Stephen Marshall of Nova Scotia, Canada, looked up 34 sex offenders on the state's online registry before showing up at the homes of Joseph Gray, 57, of Milo, and William Elliott, 24, of Corinth, and shooting them with a .45-caliber handgun. Marshall took guns and a truck from his father in Houlton before going to the victims' homes, authorities said. Continue reading
