This Week in Sex Offender News

The week hasn't been good for sex offender around the US... it seems that every day, more are making the news than did the day before. Of course... it's really no shock to most of us. In this weeks sex offender news, we have a few real winners that will leave you wondering just who on earth let these creeps out into society.

First up, we have Bobby Marcellus Frazier a 60 year old sex offender who was housed in a group home.
Frazier had walked away from a group home at 552 Industrial Drive in Wendell Tuesday morning, a short time before a 92-year-old woman and a 78-year-old woman were assaulted inside their Wendell home, police said.

The older woman was able to call 911, and officers were able to thwart an attempted sexual assault, police said. The younger woman suffered what police described as substantial injuries.

"It should have never happened. That guy should have never made it any further than the front doorstep without an escort," said a relative of one of the women.

Yeah, he should have never made it out the door... of prison.

Next up is registered sex offender Nathan M. Bice. He clearly didn't learn from his first round with the court system, as it turns out that the perv decided to attempt to solicit sex from a girl he met online.
The girl told police about a month ago she received a request from Bice through hoverspot.com, asking her to add him as a friend, according to the search warrant.

Bice and the girl started exchanging e-mails. Bice told the girl he wanted to have sex with her and depicted other sexual acts he wished to engage in with the girl, according to the warrant.

The two began talking over the phone and two weeks ago, Bice met the girl at Village Park, 144 Winnebago St., North Fond du Lac, according to the warrant.

What makes Bice's case so interesting isn't that he was attempting to establish a sexual relationship with a minor- rather it was the minors behavior. Note to parents... your daughter should be online lying about their age, and requesting that strangers to buy alcohol for her. It's common sense people.

And, to add to the concern of Portland residents, it seems that Jack isn't the only high profile perv they should be concerned about:
A violent sex offender is missing and has been seen in the Washougal and Vancouver areas.

McMinnville Troy Fich failed to register as a sex offender, authorities say, and also faces charges of resisting arrest and parole violations.

As always, be careful out there...

If this stunt sounds familiar, it's because the trick has already been played out, but that didn't stop William Willey- a sex offender- from jumping in and trying it out himself:
Police said Willey tried to enroll as a senior at Hollidaysburg High School last week and disclosed he was homeless and had previously been arrested.

School officials became suspicious and ran Willey's name on an Internet search, which identified him as a sex offender.

Florida Sex Offender Registry

Reading the news today, I was taken back to see that the Florida Sex Offender registry was being criticized. Having had the chance to look at it previously, I had always found it rather informative, and well organized. The issue that many are having with it now wouldn't be noticed by the occasional browser on the site. Which makes it even worse. A review of the FSR has found some rather unsettling statistics: The News-Press analyzed the Florida Department of Law Enforcement database of 36,306 sex offenders and found: • 9,205 of them are incarcerated • 7,037 have run away or can't be found • 824 have been deported; and • 516 are dead. Of the 15,573 sex offenders listed as released and not on parole or probation, only 11,355 of those actually live in Florida. Sex offender registries can only be usefully, and only fully do what they where designed to do when they are updated, maintained and monitored continuously. When you are relying on the SO registries to monitors how safe your...

This land is my land, this land is not your land...

I was reading the illegal immigrant news this morning... you know, all about the Spanish National anthem... and all about their big rally May 2... and I started thinking. Perhaps, just perhaps we need to stand up. It may be a really good time to remind everyone who's country this is. 12 million illegals... heh, I think we can beat that. The rough estimate is that the US has a population of 298,000,000, or close too it. Take away the estimated 12 million illegals, and we still have 286,000,000 give or take some. So, basically, if one were to be honest- a boycott by legal citizens would be more impressive. 12 million illegals, who can not legally vote verses 286 million citizens who can minus children and some criminals. My country. Not theirs. My taxes, my jobs, my political leaders. 286 million people should be able to remind law makers just who put them in office. 286 million people should be able to remind companies who buys their products. 286 million people should be able to si...

The Murder of Karen Tipton

A DOCTOR'S WIFE IS MURDERED, SPELLING TRAGEDY FOR TWO FAMILIES AS A YOUNG MAN’S LIFE HANGS IN THE BALANCE “48 HOURS MYSTERY” REVEALS NEW DRAMATIC DEVELOPMENTS IN A RIVETING LEGAL BATTLE THAT HAS PUT JUSTICE ON TRIAL In March 1999, Karen Tipton, a mother of two and the wife of psychiatrist Dr. David Tipton, was found stabbed 28 times in her Decatur, Ala. home. And for the last nine years Daniel Wade Moore, who was convicted of the crime, has been at the center of an unprecedented legal battle, one that has his life hanging in the balance. Moore, a former drug user, was only 24 when he was arrested for Tipton’s murder after he confessed to his uncle that he had been present at the scene of the crime. While being questioned by police, Moore stabbed himself with a penknife, a move that authorities believe stemmed from his feelings of guilt. Moore, however, says that he is not guilty, explaining that he was getting high on drugs at the time he confessed to his uncle and that he had a...
