Police officer gets off, and then does it legally too.

Someone tell me what the purpose of sentencing someone to 45 years is, if you are going to be a moron and suspend the sentence two seconds later. Seriously, explain it to me. And- explain how this "sentence" including the tossing away of the sentence can be anywhere close to proper, when the perp is a former police officer, who committed his crimes while he was still a police officer- and whose crimes were against children and sexually motivated:

Randolph D. Smith, 60, pleaded guilty Thursday to six counts of indecent liberties with children, getting a 45-year sentence - all of it suspended. All the incidents occurred while Smith was a sworn police officer.

"At least it's a start to ruining his life," said one of the victims, now 39, who was 13 at the time of the first incident in 1982. "At least it's a start to holding him accountable. He ruined his own life by choosing to lead that lifestyle."

He said he believes Smith has victimized other adolescent boys, and hopes the publicity surrounding the case could spur others to come forward. The man's name and another victim's name are being withheld because the Daily Press does not publish the names of sexual assault victims.

Five of the incidents that Smith pleaded guilty to involve the police officer sexually assaulting the boys. A sixth incident involved Smith watching one of the boys as he took a shower.

Idiot judges, and more reasons not to move to Newport News.

He loves me, he loves me not, oh what the heck he loves me...

It seems to resemble a bit of a 3rd grade crush. Mag said first grade ... but it's really less annoying that having my ponytail pulled. He loves me... after all, he keeps linking to me . He loves me not... evidently that's why he uses my comments out of context and twists my words... he loves me, because clearly he likes to "poke the bear" (That 70's Show quote). Yes, I just referred to myself as a bear. A lot less hairy, but no less scary. Because anyone that thinks you should be locked up for the rest of your life is indeed scary. Especially when she likes to go around telling everyone how demented you are... and how she'd like to see you locked up forever. And even more scary when you know that it's the truth she speaks. And Lindsay, he is demented. And he should be locked up forever. And, well it seems that he is a fan of mine. Yep, that sick lil monkey can't help himself. He reads this here blog (which is a hint that you should share your thoughts...

Linsi E. Light

When it came on the news last night, there was very little information. Even today, although there is more coming out- there still is a rather chilling "quietness" in the details of the case. You must understand, my home town is rather small. Murders front page news. So when the second murder of the year was shuffled into the mid section of the paper this morning, without so much as a name for the victim, it seemed- well it seemed odd. It wasn't until this evening that one (out of two) local TV news stations picked it up enough for it to hit their website. What I have been able to compile so far, is that at some time last night, Lima Police received a call about a gun being shot. They arrived at 1212 Bellefontaine Ave, on the east side of Lima to find a 19 year old OSU student dead. The young woman would be identified as Linsi E. Light, a first year OSU Lima student from Montpelier Ohio , a small Ohio town with just over 4,000 residents. She apparently had been shot in th...
