Every now and then, I get the chance to read something that really sums up everything I think. Today I had one of those chances.
Keep in mind- we have laws requiring some people to report suspect child abuse. We have laws that make bartenders who knowingly serve someone who is drunk more drinks responsible if the drunk goes out and kills someone on the way home. We have laws that say if you enable someone to commit a crime, you can be asked to defend yourself in a court of law.
This... just follows that perfect logic of making all parties step back and rethink their position before allowing a demented sexual predator go free with a quick rubber stamp that declares them 'safe' 'fixed' or unlikely to offend very often.

I do not know what the statistics are on how many child molesters go onto molest when released from prison; I do not know why they are released in the first place. Maybe we need a law that says: "when a child molester is released from prison with the help of his/her doctor/psychiatrist and goes on to molest another child, the doctor/psychiatrist should spend some time in jail as well."
I'm all for that...
