Wanted ads....

I always wanted to get the chance to write one of those 'wanted' ads for the newspaper. You know the kind where someone is seeking someone else. Personally- I think I'd be rather good at it. I know, you're not sure just how well I'd handle the position- are you? Well, here... I'll give you a glimpse of just how good I'd be:

Well trained, devoted US Marshals desperately seeking sicko sexual predator for long term prison sentence. Perfer Louisville area, but willing to travel. Must be around five feet six inches tall and weigh about 180 pounds, African American, with black hair and brown eyes, and answer to the name "David P. Wheatly". On the edge of our seats waiting to meet. Call 502- 574-LMPD.

I know, you're amazed at my way with words aren't you?

Anyhow, since I doubt I'll be getting that job helping people write wanted ads for the personals... I suppose I'll stick to doing what I always do- sharing the news.

The U.S. Marshals are asking for your help finding a man charged in a sexual assault case.

David P. Wheatly, 41, faces two counts each of rape, sexual assault and sodomy of an 11- or 12-year-old girl in 2006.

Florida Sex Offender Registry

Reading the news today, I was taken back to see that the Florida Sex Offender registry was being criticized. Having had the chance to look at it previously, I had always found it rather informative, and well organized. The issue that many are having with it now wouldn't be noticed by the occasional browser on the site. Which makes it even worse. A review of the FSR has found some rather unsettling statistics: The News-Press analyzed the Florida Department of Law Enforcement database of 36,306 sex offenders and found: • 9,205 of them are incarcerated • 7,037 have run away or can't be found • 824 have been deported; and • 516 are dead. Of the 15,573 sex offenders listed as released and not on parole or probation, only 11,355 of those actually live in Florida.
