I know, I know... I'm slacking here. But- just so I don't seem as if I've gone completely lazy on ya'll... I figured I'd share just a few of the interesting cases I've been reading up on.

Steve's doing his homework on a gruesome murder case that is sure to leave you feeling the creepy crawlies on the back of your neck- and that also comes complete with an odd list of 'bring along' supplies.
It sounded like the sort of murder a screenwriter might concoct: respected psychologist hacked to death by cleaver-wielding patient. To anyone who entered the office of Dr. Kathryn Faughey after 9 p.m. on Tuesday, it was a terrible reality.


Trench is looking into a possible new law that seems as silly as schools accepting a 'note from your mom' explaining you were ill on senior skip day in high school.
State legislators in Illinois are trying to pass a law that would require sites like MySpace and Facebook to get written parental permission before kids would be allowed on the site.


Our own personal serial killer 'expert' Stephen has put up some information on a possible serial killer in Boca Raton, complete with his thoughts regarding the cases and the suspect behavior.

And HomeSweetHome has the case of domestic violence turned into a murder charge... although it's a plot you're not likely to see coming.

Florida Sex Offender Registry

Reading the news today, I was taken back to see that the Florida Sex Offender registry was being criticized. Having had the chance to look at it previously, I had always found it rather informative, and well organized. The issue that many are having with it now wouldn't be noticed by the occasional browser on the site. Which makes it even worse. A review of the FSR has found some rather unsettling statistics: The News-Press analyzed the Florida Department of Law Enforcement database of 36,306 sex offenders and found: • 9,205 of them are incarcerated • 7,037 have run away or can't be found • 824 have been deported; and • 516 are dead. Of the 15,573 sex offenders listed as released and not on parole or probation, only 11,355 of those actually live in Florida. Mom Arrested After Baby Found Mauled By Dogs

This is a story that I really don't want to share, it angers me all the while breaking my heart at how someone could be so cold and callous. My only comment is that there is always a better way. Some may of thought of going to the hospital, others may have thought about calling someone- anyone for help. But the complete disregard this person showed is horrifing. PORTSMOUTH, Ohio -- Investigators said the badly-mauled body of a newborn infant was found Tuesday afternoon on the banks of the Ohio River. The next day, the baby's 21-year-old mother was arrested after admitting to a hidden pregnancy. The mother told investigators that the baby was still-born at home. She said she panicked and disposed of the baby boy a few miles from her home, NBC 4's Erin Tate reported. The investigation began after authorities received a 911 call from a frantic mother. I was reading the illegal immigrant news this morning... you know, all about the Spanish National anthem... and all about their big rally May 2... and I started thinking. Perhaps, just perhaps we need to stand up. It may be a really good time to remind everyone who's country this is. 12 million illegals... heh, I think we can beat that. The rough estimate is that the US has a population of 298,000,000, or close too it. Take away the estimated 12 million illegals, and we still have 286,000,000 give or take some. So, basically, if one were to be honest- a boycott by legal citizens would be more impressive. 12 million illegals, who can not legally vote verses 286 million citizens who can minus children and some criminals.
