Dallas... poor poor Dallas

Not being an expert in laws regarding certain adult entertainment establishments, I can't tell you whether Dallas Texas has restricted stripping to those over 18 or over 21. But- it really shouldn't matter either way, as the particular 'dancer' in question wasn't even 18 yet. In fact, she wasn't even old enough to drive a car.

Dallas police are investigating how it turned out that a 12 year old girl (yes I said 12) ended up working at Diamonds Cabaret, a nude strip club. The girl, a runaway, met 22 year old David Bell who first took her to the club.
According to court documents, the 12-year-old said that before giving her the job, a club employee asked her to "take off her clothes to see if she was too shy to dance nude."

"You know, she looks like an adult body-wise, but she's 12," the girl's mother said.

The court records say the girl gave a fake name, said she forgot her birthday, and the club didn't get an ID.

As if that isn't enough to cause anger, it now seems that the 'bar' in question will continue to operate, because there is no law that requires it to be shut down.
"There's a laundry list of things we can use to deny or revoke a license, but having a 12-year-old dancing in their establishment is not one of the things that automatically enables us to revoke their license," police Lt. Christina Smith, who oversees the strip-club permit process, tells the paper.

Sadly, this isn't the first time this club has been found to have employed an underage girl. A 17-year-old girl was found to be working in the club just months ago.
SOURCE Demonica Abron, 27, who worked as a stripper in the club, and David Bell, 22, are facing charges in connection with the 12-year-old girl's dancing in the club. Mr. Bell does not appear to have been employed by the club.

[..]

The 23-page city ordinance allows the revocation of a club's license if, for example, the club knowingly allows prostitution, the sale or use of drugs at the club, or if there are two convictions for sex-related crimes at the club within a 12-month period.

Florida Sex Offender Registry

Reading the news today, I was taken back to see that the Florida Sex Offender registry was being criticized. Having had the chance to look at it previously, I had always found it rather informative, and well organized. The issue that many are having with it now wouldn't be noticed by the occasional browser on the site. Which makes it even worse. A review of the FSR has found some rather unsettling statistics: The News-Press analyzed the Florida Department of Law Enforcement database of 36,306 sex offenders and found: • 9,205 of them are incarcerated • 7,037 have run away or can't be found • 824 have been deported; and • 516 are dead. Of the 15,573 sex offenders listed as released and not on parole or probation, only 11,355 of those actually live in Florida. Sex offender registries can only be usefully, and only fully do what they where designed to do when they are updated, maintained and monitored continuously. When you are relying on the SO registries to monitors how safe your...

He loves me, he loves me not, oh what the heck he loves me...

It seems to resemble a bit of a 3rd grade crush. Mag said first grade ... but it's really less annoying that having my ponytail pulled. He loves me... after all, he keeps linking to me . He loves me not... evidently that's why he uses my comments out of context and twists my words... he loves me, because clearly he likes to "poke the bear" (That 70's Show quote). Yes, I just referred to myself as a bear. A lot less hairy, but no less scary. Because anyone that thinks you should be locked up for the rest of your life is indeed scary. Especially when she likes to go around telling everyone how demented you are... and how she'd like to see you locked up forever. And even more scary when you know that it's the truth she speaks. And Lindsay, he is demented. And he should be locked up forever. And, well it seems that he is a fan of mine. Yep, that sick lil monkey can't help himself. He reads this here blog (which is a hint that you should share your thoughts...

Mom Arrested After Baby Found Mauled By Dogs

This is a story that I really don't want to share, it angers me all the while breaking my heart at how someone could be so cold and callous. My only comment is that there is always a better way. Some may of thought of going to the hospital, others may have thought about calling someone- anyone for help. But the complete disregard this person showed is horrifing. PORTSMOUTH, Ohio -- Investigators said the badly-mauled body of a newborn infant was found Tuesday afternoon on the banks of the Ohio River. The next day, the baby's 21-year-old mother was arrested after admitting to a hidden pregnancy. The mother told investigators that the baby was still-born at home. She said she panicked and disposed of the baby boy a few miles from her home, NBC 4's Erin Tate reported. The investigation began after authorities received a 911 call from a frantic mother. Dispatcher: "911, what's your emergency?" Caller: "My kids were just outside, telling me that the dog was ch...
