If you live in Salem- you have yet another reason to find this day scary. Somehow- I can't figure out how or better yet WHY- they've released yet another dangerous sex offender. SALEM -- A man Polk County deputies say is a dangerous sex offender is back on the streets. Larry Lee Edwards was released from jail this morning. Edwards has a 20 year history of kidnapping and rape. He was first convicted of sodomizing two 9-year-old boys in 1985. Since then, Edwards hasbeen in and out of jail for various violations of his sex offender treatment, includes looking at child pornography on a Salem library computer. Edwards was last picked up in may after he failed to register as a sex offender with the state.

I just finished up reading Dan's Crime Library Entry on a missing children's advocate from Portland. It's a good read, I've been waiting for it- and I can say I was not disappointed. I don't believe for a moment that I am perfect, well at least not when it comes to spelling. I try to always use my spell check before I hit 'post', but I'll admit- sometimes I just don't. It's not really the spelling that I have issue with- it's my typing. I don't always watch my fingers and I happen to type fast- just not always well. But sometimes, just the plain stupidity of others gets to be more than I can handle. If it's bad spelling on it's own- I can get past it. But when it is bad spelling, bad grammar, and bad content- I feel more than annoyed by it. This is really leading up to something. Something special. I found THE BLOG. Maryland state troopers said in a report two months ago that Prince George's County District Court Judge Richard A. Palumbo, the focus of controversy in recent days for a decision in a domestic violence case and a voided traffic ticket, caused a two-vehicle accident in Charles County. She told the judge her husband was threatening her and her family, but Palumbo cut her off and advised her to go to divorce court before dropping the protective order. Yvette Cade was doused with gasoline and set on fire days later by Hargrave. An attorney for Judge Richard Palumbo, who lifted the order, blamed it on a clerical error. I can not get pat the line that reads "Supporters of the 23-year-old mother accused of throwing her three sons into San Francisco Bay" SUPPORTERS? Are you kidding me? Evidently more than one person is in need of serious medication in this case. Although I still hold out hope that her maedication comes in teh form of a death sentence. One can not strip little kids naked, throw them over into the water to their deaths and expect sympathy. I'm relieved to say that prosecutors have not given up the fight to keep the videos made by Joseph Duncan which include graphic scenes of the children he kidnapped, from being copied and released. I do not believe that doing so would serve justice in anyway- and it has always been their position that the defense council may view the tapes at any time. In truth there is just no good reason for releasing these tapes. I do not see how having an extra copy lying around would do anything by compromise the ability to safeguard what is on the tapes from being released into the public. This one will pull at your heart. I'm just bleeding sympathy all over from it. Another sick little monkey wants us to feel bad because his status as a sex offender made life a bit too hard for him. Understandably, he eventually had to pick up and move because it was so very hard for him to live with that label. James Winburn, 36, of Lexington Ky, is accused of two counts of custodial interference and violating the state's sex offender act. He is already a registered sexual offender. He was found with a 15-year-old girl who had been reported missing. The two were staying in a tent he pitched less than fifty yards from a swing set, at Fort Boonesboro State Park. Winburn was convicted in 1997 of first degree sexual abuse of a relative and sentenced to 5 years in prison. SOURCE

Reading this morning brought me to a story about a family in Montana of a man found dead near Devils Lake three years ago. They believe, and h ave asked the FBI to investigate- that their son may be yet another victim of Joseph E Duncan. He had been to Fargo just the day before his disappearence. Russell Turcotte of Wolf Point, Mont., was 19 when he disappeared in July 2002. He called his mother from Grand Forks, and she promised to wire him money so he could take the bus home. His body was found in a tree grove along U.S. Highway 2 near Devils Lake the following November. His father, Bill Turcotte, said his son had been in Fargo the day before he disappeared. He also said Russell Turcotte appeared younger than his actual age. "Russell did have a real boyish appearance about him," Bill Turcotte said. The child lost parts of three fingers in the grinder having to be flown by helicopter to MetroHealth Medical Center. He is currently in good condition- despite being raised by scum. Everytime I have to hear/read about how these parents believed that they where right for caging their adopted children, I shrudder. For them, it is easier to blame the kids- after all THEIR behavior caused the abuse. If the kid could have just "stopped crying" or stopped this or that- the parent would not have had to lock them in a closet, beat them with a 2x4 etc. Even worse is when the "father" who locked these kids in cages defends the money they recieved - over $4000 a month- by telling us that "you couldn't pay enough to do the things they did".
