Police say a vehicle in the oncoming lane crashed and Heidi got out to help the injured driver. However, her altruistic rescue attempt resulted in her being assaulted and carjacked by a 20-year-old gang member named Manuel Penaloza. Penaloza soon crashed Heidi's car and cops say he fled the scene on foot. Authorities searched Penaloza's car and knew that the investigation had only just begun when they discovered two people shot execution style in the abandoned vehicle. I know, I know... I'm a day late. While I seen the news- first about the jury feeling deadlocked on the second charge and then about the guilty verdicts, I just didn't have the time to log on and post. Thankfully, someone else did and I suggest clicking over and reading their take on the entire case. I couldn't have said it better myself. Stop the ACLU : He ruled with an iron fist say former members. He was one sicko that was hurting a lot of people. This particular trial dealt with a female forced to marry at the age of 14. He is also charged in Arizona with being an accomplice to incest and sexual misconduct with a minor for arranging marriages between two underage girls and relatives of theirs. Today he was found guilty of two counts of being an accomplice to rape.

I've always been a little undecided about having sex ed in schools. On one hand, we have parents who are barely willing to teach their children simple manners such how to wear a belt so your rear isn't visible to every person who happens to be within viewing distance of you- god knows that some of those same parents honestly see MTV as a better resource of information on sex than actually sitting down and talking to their child would be. But, on the other hand- I don't really favor the "hands on" approach of some school teachers when it comes to sex ed. It's not that I don't understand the benefit of "hands on" learn when it comes to other subjects- dissecting the frog in science gives a much better visual learning concept than just reading about each bodily organ in a text book. And Civics class would be less thrilling without the mock trials. Art class would lose appeal if children only looked at the painting of Van Gogh, rather than putting br

The story behind how these two became of interest to police is a little far fetched if you ask me, but rather than debating the likelihood of it, or questioning why the hell he waited so freaking long before turning to police- I'm going to just quote the story ... for now. After receiving a graphic tape of a young girl being assaulted by an adult male, Nye County police need help identifying both the victim and the man. According to the news, the FBI has issued a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of Charles Hollin- who is wanted in connection to the abduction and sexual abuse of a 10 year old in Indiana. Source- Investigators say Hollin has even pretended to be a police officer, so the FBI considers him armed and dangerous. He is originally from Manchester, so he could be in that area. On January 20, 1999, a ten-year-old female resident of Seymour, Indiana, was allegedly abducted at knife point outside a local girl's club and later sexually assaulted. Timothy Iberer must have believed in the old expression "if at first you don't succeed, try try again", because police are alleging that the 27 year old convicted sexual offender broke into the bedroom window of a five year old girl at least three times before getting caught. The child's mother awoke around 3 a.m. on Sept. 10 to noises in her house and noticed her daughter's bedroom door, unusually, was closed. The mother entered, saw a man with a flashlight sitting on her daughter's bed, and she screamed. The intruder leaped out the first-floor window in the girl's bedroom , which authorities later discovered he entered by slitting the lower corners of the screen to unlock it, according to an arrest affidavit. The affidavit said the position of the child when her mother entered her room indicated that the intruder planned a sexual assault. The child was not harmed, authorities said. But, that didn't stop him from walking past a group of preteen girls and after saying "'Look at those sexy little salty girls'", motioning one (who was 9) to follow him towards a shelter made of four poles and a roof at a local park. The girl was smart enough to not follow him, police were smart enough to arrest him, and a jury was smart enough to convict him. A judge however, believed that because the "shelter" was in view of a a street, and was a sort of "open air" shelter as we call them- that the crime for which Pask was charged- Wisconsin's child enticement statute- didn't occur . After a switch to a high profile lawyer, and a delay on the sentencing hearing, Raye Dawn has finally stood before the judge and been officially given her sentence: Raye Dawn Smith was sentenced on Monday to 27 years in prison for enabling child abuse, which resulted in the death of her 2-year-old daughter. Kelsey Briggs died from a blow to the stomach in October 2005, and a jury convicted her stepfather, Michael Porter, of enabling child abuse by injury. More...

Dana Mack made the horrifying discovery Monday in her family's garage. Her 6 year old daughter- dead and hanging with a rope around her neck. In a letter to the sheriff's department, Navarro County Judge Vicki Gray said an autopsy of the body showed "a multitude of events that together caused the death of this child." No other details were released. It is impossible to begin to imagine the motivation for sexually abusing a first graders, and then leaving her to die by hanging her. Police have indicated that they have questioned several people, but have not yet named any suspects or made any arrests. I seen this story the other day, and all I could think was that some people really are poster children for mandatory sterilization. Stop the ACLU has a post up on one the the ACLU's very own- their pride and joy, a former Virginia’s American Civil Liberties Union top dog, and child porn downloader , who was recently sentenced. This wasn't just a naked child here or there in a few files, according to the judge the child porn Charles Rust-Tierney downloaded was sickening to say the least. The judge called it: the most perverted and nauseating and sickening type of child pornography" she had seen in 10 years on the bench. And: "The child pornography you purchased was of the most abhorrent kind," And: that "the term 'child pornography' does not convey the depravity" of the images that were downloaded. Read this post at Woman Honor Thy Self, and was stunned. Straight, Gay, Bi- I could care less about someone's sexual preference. But when someone ignores sexual abuse of children because they claim they feared that it would be Politically Incorrect to mention it- well, that's pitiful. The older woman was able to call 911, and officers were able to thwart an attempted sexual assault, police said. The younger woman suffered what police described as substantial injuries.
