Having read Stephen of CrimeSceneBlog 's posts ( first and second ) on Jack McClellan both at his site and as CrimeBlog.us, I've come up with a great idea for Seattle residents. Now, bare with me while I refresh you on the Jack situation. How do you know when you need a new judge? For starters, when he is Judge Howsare from Bedford Pa. As you may recall, I've written a few times about the judge, and the pervert who recently sat in his courtroom on trial for almost 400 counts of sexual abuse of a child. The perv, Richard Crawford was convicted, the state said he was a sexually violent predator, but the judge wasn't sure so he postponed the sentencing (it's already been almost 3 months since the conviction). Don't read about the sentence which was reduced to one year in prison, or the fact that the rapist wants to get custody of the baby if DNA tests prove she's his child. Even a quick peek over at fellow crime blogger Trench's MyCrimeSpace tends to leave parents feeling a little frightened over the prospects of the potential for danger if their children use the popular social network. And yet, there are thousands of youths that log on every day that will never encounter the type of criminal conduct that is the subject of Trench's site. As parents, we have to weigh the stakes of MySpace, as well as the rest of the internet. We have to be willing to say that if our children are allowed online, we will diligently monitor their activity- and we have to be willing to follow through with that. A year and a half ago I brought you the case of Alfredo Lopez-Cruz , an illegal alien who was residing in Hamilton Ohio. Police say that he lured a 9 year old neighbor into him home and raped her. The girl was able to escape when this scum bag fell asleep. Lopez-Cruz evaded police, fleeing the area. The home he attacked the girl in was later burned down, by angered people. The Star- An HIV-infected dad who breached his “sacred trust” of parenthood and gave his 5-year-old daughter gonorrhea has been sentenced to three years in jail. His little girl was “a helpless child who loved and trusted her father,” said Superior Court Justice Bonnie Croll. There is a chance that his daughter will suffer from future infertility, the judge noted. Last October, Croll found the 47-year-old man, who cannot be named, guilty of sexual assault causing bodily harm and the sexual touching of his daughter in July 2001. “By passing gonorrhea on to his young daughter (he) caused her severe physical discomfort,” the judge said. Chandler, AZ has a problem. In an unsettling update, it seems that a sexual predator who attacks young girls has struck again: Arizona- The first occurred on Jan. 16, when a man dressed as a utility worker tried to get into a house on Hamilton St. about 8:40 a.m. There were two girls in the house who fought back and the suspect fled. The suspect has also been tied to the Jan. 31 assault on a 14 year-old girl at an apartment complex near McQueen and Knox Rds. The suspect forced his way into her apartment as she left for school just after 8:00 a.m. [...] The latest attack took place about 7 a.m. on Friday, but was not reported until Sunday afternoon. Griner said the victim’s mother had left for work. A short time later, the suspect got into the house and drew a weapon. The victim told officers a similar incident happened about a month ago. David Waser might have once been a respected minister at the Second Church of Christ in Newark, might have been- although it's almost certain that he's not now, and wouldn't have been had his congregation members been aware of his out of church behaviors. NBC 4- The former minister at the Second Church of Christ in Newark pleaded guilty to the receipt of child pornography Wednesday. As part of a plea deal, David Waser could face twenty years in prison, NBC 4 reported. According to prosecutors, last June Waser paid $130 for several child pornography videos via the Internet. Authorities said Waser actually purchased the videos from a sting operation operated by the U.S. Postal Service. Inspectors later searched Waser's home and allegedly found all of the purchased tapes, including one in the VCR. Police said Waser admitted to wanting to watch the tapes, and said he admitting to fondling young girls during the past 30 years. Now, I'm all for the 20 years for the child

The indictment contains grim details about the case that police and prosecutors had not previously revealed. It says Christopher died from asphixation March 8 -- the day he was reported missing -- after the suspects choked him while "ignoring his complaints that they were hurting him." Take this story, (found via crimene.ws ) Police arrested a teen suspected of trying to lure three young girls into a stolen vehicle after a group of parents confronted the boy at a Scottsdale elementary school. The teen fought with a group of as many as 10 parents Monday evening at Copper Ridge Elementary School, 10100 E. Thompson Peak Parkway after the parents used their vehicles to trap the teen on campus until officers arrived. The 16-year-old boy told officers he escaped from a bus traveling to a "group home" in the West Valley before going to a friend who reportedly gave him a stolen Buick sedan, which he drove to the Scottsdale school. It's been months since little Coralrose Fullwood's father last seen his daughter alive. Dale Fullwood had checked on her when he came home at 2:30 a.m. on Sept. 17. When the family awoke around 7 a.m., Coralrose and her blanket were gone. In the moments and days that followed, a real life nightmare unfolded for her family. Today, a question came in that I feel really should be answered- because I have this odd feeling that this situation isn't happening just to one person, and so it may be beneficial to post the answer for others too. Richard Crawford spent five years molesting his girlfriends daughter, starting when she was just seven years old. In all, Crawford was convicted of 390 counts of sexual abuse in December of last year. Today, Crawford is out on the streets, walking as freely as you and me. In fairness to the judge in this case, Judge Daniel Howsare, Crawford isn't free due to a light sentence... because he hasn't actually been sentenced at all. It seems that Judge Daniel Howsare can't decide if Crawford is a "violent sex offender", so he has been refusing to sentence him. Instead, against the advice and pleas from Bedford County District Attorney Bill Higgins the judge has allowed Crawford to wonder around, out on bond . "The state offender association board has determined he is a sexually violent predator," said Higgins. "We just need the court to go along with that." After arguing with his girlfriend, 31 year old Kevin Chandler was left alone in his car with his 11 month old son, while the mother went into her home to grab the child's car seat. Chandler, holding the child in his arms proceeded to stab the boy in the back, and then toss him out the car window . Limbrock handed Devin to Chandler so she could retrieve his car seat inside the home. As she left the car, she heard Chandler swear at the boy and turned around to see him throw Devin out of the car window, according to a police report. When Limbrock picked up her son, she saw a knife in his back, the report said. She ran back to the home, where residents called for an ambulance. "We're still trying to determine motive here, but at this point I have no reason to believe he did this to get back at the mother or anything," the detective said. Samara Laverne Spann had been bothered by her daughter while she was on the phone. She'd also been recently annoyed with the young girl, routinely calling her "devil child". Source, via Yahoo News- She also was upset because her daughter kept getting out of bed and interrupting a telephone conversation, according to the court filings. Spann told investigators she drowned the girl in the bathtub of their home south of Seattle on Dec. 31, 2004, or Jan. 1, 2005, after seeking advice from someone who was interested in the occult, prosecutors said in court papers. On Jan. 2, Spann bought a chain, a padlock and an ax at a hardware store, then cut off the girl's head, wrapped the chain about the body, put the girl's remains into a plastic bin and threw it off a bridge somewhere between King County and the Oregon border, prosecutors wrote.
