John David Lashbrook

John David Lashbrook can't control himself, and has a list of sexually charged convictions to prove it. Lashbrook pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a former girlfriend in 2005, before that in 1996 he sexually assaulted a 22-year-old neighbour by thrusting his hand into her pants. Even before that he was in trouble for breaching a sentence by going to a barbecue at Kinsmen Park, that sentence was in connection with charges in 1992 which was his third conviction for molesting children. Prior convictions where serious offences against six children, between 6 and 9 year old, between 1982 and 1992. But, hie lawyer doesn't think it's a big enough deal to label him and give him a indefinite prison term. John David Lashbrook's most recent sex crimes are not serious enough to justify the label of dangerous offender and the indefinite prison term that comes with it, his lawyer said Thursday. Lashbrook, 51, will wait until July 3 to find out if Judge Marty Irwin will declare

America's Most Wanted

First, big news from America's Most Wanted: BREAKING NEWS: Little Nicky Corozzo was arguably the Gambino crime family's most powerful chieftain -- and perhaps its craftiest. Now, a week and a half after AMW took the manhunt for him nationwide, Little Nick Corozzo is in custody in New York City. Check AMW.com for the latest details on this breaking story. This weeks episode of America's Most Wanted will be featuring the following cases, you can catch AMW at 9pm on your local Fox station Saturday nights: Ft. Myers Eight: Months after detectives recovered a cache of bones from eight men in a wooded area of Fort Myers, Fla., authorities have officially ruled the case a homicide. Cops continue to try to find out who the men are, and whether a serial killer is behind the gruesome mystery. http://www.amw.com/fugitives /brief.cfm?id=51867 William Santos: Police say illegal alien William Roberto Santos was considered a trusted member of his community, and was a dedicated

He worked to put himself in positions of trust

Four years volunteering as a childs advocate for the county, serving on his church's youth group and as a worker for CASA. His references were perfect, his criminal background checks spotless. And then an 8 year old girl came forward to admit that Billy Dan Carroll had been sexually abusing her . "This individual has been through an FBI fingerprint check, national criminal databases, state of Texas criminal databases, the CPS central registry, those are all of the sources that we can check on every potential volunteer," said Laura Wolf, executive director of Court Appointed Special Advocates of Travis County. "This particular criminal background check came back clean with nothing to give us any cause for concern. We also talk to personal references. This individual had glowing references." Police said they believe the girl is not Carroll's only victim, and he may have assaulted more children and even some adults. [...] "Mr. Carroll has no record of any

History of the camera phone

Cell phones are neat little things. There is just so much you can do with them nowadays. It used to be, way back before cell phones became the "thing" that all you could do with your phone was talk on it. And the most your phone could do for you was connect you to someone else, either when they called you or you called them. But now- now things are different. Now your phone can do all sorts of things like- browse the internet, send email, take photos, take video, play games, and even help get you arrested. Barry Glenn Thunder knows this all to well , since he'd been using his cell phone to take pornographic photos and videos of two small children which is how his phone ended up getting him arrested. It seems that Thunder left his phone in the possession of someone else, who began playing with the phone. While messing with it, they discovered the photos and videos and informed police. Police say the 3 and 4 year-old victims, who are sisters and their mother, used to live a

Teacher has class vote out 5 year old

I get that there are annoying children out there. I know, that's not nice to say- but it is true. In fact, I've got a good half dozen of them within eye shot of my house that are pretty annoying themselves. And despite having to take extra precautions to ensure that the little weasels aren't hanging around my home - I've never felt the need to be mean to them. I'm not friendly mind you, but I'm not mean either. Wendy Portillo is mean. And what makes her being mean even worse is that unlike me- I didn't ask for extra little heathens to be within 25 yards of me- she's a teacher. It's actually part of her job to have children around her. She made the CHOICE to be around little kids that would possibly prove to be annoying and troublesome. So, her meanness is even more repulsive. Melissa Barton said she is considering legal action after her son's kindergarten teacher led his classmates to vote him out of class. After each classmate was allowed to sa

I'd rethink sending kids to that school...

Collège Français in Canada isn't having much luck lately. First, a gym teacher at the school was arrested for engaging in sexual activity with young boys he lured to him home. Just a day later, and the problems at the school are getting scarier. A man broke into the school Friday and took photographs of girls who were in the washroom. A 6-year-old girl told her mother as well as a staff member about the incident. The staff member chased the man, who locked himself in the school's gym. St. Hyacinthe resident Martin Bradette, 29, was arrested at the school and charged at the Longueuil courthouse with possession and production of child pornography.

David Lee Vogel <3 2 txt

David Lee Vogel evidently liked to use the 'text message' or sms feature of his cell phone. Unfortunately, it seems that the convicted sexual offender also liked to use the service in order to send sexually explicit material to underage teenage girls. Shortly after a jury was seated for the trial of a sex offender accused of sending obscene text messages and pictures to the cell phones of two teens, the defendant pleaded guilty. David Lee Vogel, 46, was identified as the sender of the messages through his cell phone service provider. Investigators said that Vogel sent dozens of vulgar messages and obscene images. Investigators believe that Vogel would randomly dial numbers in an attempt to find young girls, and used this method to make contact with the two under aged victims. Along with these charges, Vogel is still facing charges involving an adult woman to whom he sexually harassed. Regardless of the outcome of those charges- he'll be spending at least some time in jail t

Terry Banks strikes again

Terry Banks was convicted in 1987 of two counts of kidnapping, sodomy, rape and robbery. He received a sentence of 20 years, of which he served 17. Then he was released into the public, until recently when he decided to commit yet another crime spree. Metro police said Terry Banks randomly picked a residence on Heywood Avenue early Sunday morning, robbed the women inside the home and forced them to perform sex acts on each other. He then fled to a nearby home. Family members of two of the victims have indicated that the victims were also physically assaulted, leaving them requiring hospitalization. Since being labeled a 'lifetime registered offender', a status saved usually for the most high risk offenders, didn't deter him from committing another heinous crime- perhaps this time Kentucky can be nice enough to lock this monster up behind bars until he's dead.

What a busy little bee...

Or state I suppose. Yesterday I commented that Tennessee is working on a new law that will require sex offenders to carry a special drivers license which will alert law enforcement officials to their registration status. Those sex offenders without a current license will be required to obtain a state identification card with the special identifying capabilities. Now, it seems that the Governor has been busy signing yet another law- this time dealing directly with the registry itself. Knoxville Senator Jamie Woodson says, "It's one thing to have an individual's name and home address, but when an abuser can go under the cloak of anonymity, approach a child, get to know that child, and gain some trust with that child it's very alarming." That's why Senator Jamie Woodson says she decided to sponsor a bill requiring sex offenders to give the state their e-mail addresses and screen names. That information will be included on the registry beginning July 1. A local p

By water changes, feeding times, and just hoping that this isn't the face of someone planning to eat us in our sleep. Especially after noticing that when I hand feed him- he tends to target my fingers rather than the food. Back to crime blogging full time, the moment I decide whether or not this dangerous animal is likely to jump out of his tank and devour me in my sleep.

Let me see your license...

Licenses in Tennessee might be carrying a little more personal information than some people are used to if things go right. The state of Tennessee is set to issue a new kind of driver's license that will have a special marking signifying that the carrier is a sex offender. Video: Sex Offenders To Get Special Driver's Licenses Some lawmakers said the idea is so simple that they don't know why they came up with the idea earlier. Police said the new license will go a long way toward protecting children. Works for me.

Places to take your kids

Since summer is coming, and we all know that means that thousands of little ones will be stuck in the care of their idiot parents, I figured it was a good time to remind folks of places they shouldn't take their kids. Sadly, for Chuck Parker and Simone Stevens this post is a little to late to help them, but maybe they have some relatives out there, or friend or perfect strangers that have never even heard of them who just might stumble on the post and take two seconds to read this. Then, perhaps those new idiots will learn not to take their kids to certain places. I'd cross my fingers and say that perhaps these losers will decide not to go to these places themselves- but I really feel that would be pushing it pretty far, after all these are low life idiots we're talking about. Place number one to not take your child to: Your road trip to the local drug dealers house. I shouldn't have to tell anyone the dangers of taking your kids on a drug run... but here it goes: Poli

Gaps in Offender Registry

Here's a new one for you. Legislators make laws, then look confused when huge gapping loopholes in them cause problems. Maryland law requires sex offenders convicted of offenses that occurred after September 1995 to register with the state. Also, offenders convicted of earlier crimes are required to register - if they were in prison or on probation in October 2001. Toohey is among a small number of sex offenders who fit neither of those two descriptions. The manager of the state's sex offender registry said his case is troubling. "Eventually the problem won't exist, as you move further and further away" from the 1995 cutoff date, said Elizabeth Bartholomew, the registry's manager. "But right now it does exist, and it's not a good loophole to have, and we would like to see it corrected. Individuals like Mr. Toohey have hurt a child and have been convicted, but, because of this loophole, get out of that particular part of his obligation. Even one person

America's Most Wanted 5-23-08

The following cases will be aired this Saturday, at 9 pm on your local Fox station: John Walsh At Sprint All-Star NASCAR Race: John Walsh and the AMW crew headed down to Lowe's Motor Speedway in Charlotte, N.C. recently to catch the Sprint NASCAR All-Star Race, and to catch up with some of racing's biggest stars, including Kurt Busch and Kasey Kahne. http://www.amw.com/features /feature_story_detail.cfm?id =2787 Esther Reed: After almost nine years on the run, an AMW tipster brought accused con artist Esther Reed's life as a fugitive to an end on Saturday night in suburban Chicago. Most are like him

Phillip Trembley would like you to believe that most sex offenders are like him. I'd like you to believe that too- so I don't have a disagreement with him in that area. But- when we get to defining him, then his opinion begins to clash a little with mine. Trembley served a few years in jail, and was sentenced to spend some time checking in with the police every so often as part of his registration as a sex offender. Backing up a little, Trembleys comments come in response to a story by channel 49 news out of Topeka, KS. The article ponders over whether just a sexual offender registry list is enough, or if the state needs to follow the lead of others and adopt tougher laws- including residency restrictions. People like Phillip Trembley are on the state's registered offenders list. He committed a sex crime. "Did I touch her? Yes," he said. The KBI's registered offender Web site includes photos, addresses and the types of crimes committed, but is keeping a list

Robert J. Ruthosky Jr. Likes Kids

As in having kids. With kids. For the second time in his 31 years, Robert J. Ruthosky Jr. is looking at jail time after conceiving a child with a minor . Ruthosky, 31, of Glens Falls, is accused of fathering a child with the teen through a sexual relationship that began in 2004, when she was 16, said Washington County Sheriff's Investigator Bruce Hamilton. Ruthosky faces four felony charges of third-degree rape and three felony counts of third-degree criminal sexual act, as well as a misdemeanor count of endangering the welfare of a child. The first time, the girl in the case was just 14. Ruthosky is a registered sex offender because of a 1994 conviction for third-degree rape in Washington County Court that came after he impregnated a 14-year-old girl. Since then, he has been arrested at least four times on charges he failed to properly register as a sex offender when he moved, the most recent arrest coming in February when he moved to a home in Glens Falls without making proper no

Timothy Schlafer stays in jail

I've mentioned 18 year old Timothy Christian Schlafer before . Schalfer was arrested after police say he attempted to kidnap an 11 year old girl while she was sleeping in her home. After a hearing, it's been determined that this little monster will be remaining in jail, at least for now, as he was ordered to be held without bond. A few more details on the case against him: Police said Schlafer had a large kitchen knife when he snatched the Coral Springs girl from her bed as she slept early Wednesday. He was about to carry her outside when the girl's grandmother woke up, police said. "Put my granddaughter down!" the woman shouted at the intruder. He set the girl on the floor, rubbed her stomach and, leaving the knife on a staircase, ran out of the house near the 8700 block of Northwest 40th Street, police said. The grandmother and the girl ran upstairs and the woman called 911. The girl, 11, was not hurt. She and her grandmother told police they had never seen the

Dawson F. Shot With Two Arrows Jr

No, he wasn't actually shot with two arrows- that's evidently his last name. But- his crimes make him a perfect candidate for someone who should be shot with two arrows. Dawson F. Shot With Two Arrows Jr., 27, pleaded not guilty in U.S. District Court to a grand jury indictment charging him with kidnapping, attempted aggravated sexual abuse, robbery, first-degree burglary and assault with a dangerous weapon. According to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, he is accused of entering the victim’s Todd County home early on the morning of March 10, attempting to sexually assault her by use of force and threat, assaulting her with a knife, and then abducting her in her own car. Prosecutors say Shot With Two Arrows threatened the lives of the victim’s boyfriend and children. More...

Eugene Hammond at it again

Just like in the previous post, what we have here is a sex offender who didn't learn anything the first time he was convicted, and who likely won't be any different this time either. A convicted sex offender, who admitted to fondling an 8-year-old girl while working as a monitor on a Faith Baptist Church bus, was sentenced Thursday to serve at least 13 years in prison. Eugene Hammond, 59, formerly of 10 Burke St., Nashua, had been jailed since his arrest in October. On Thursday, Hammond pleaded guilty to two counts of felonious sexual assault, and one count of possession of child pornography. The charges all are class B felonies, but Hammond faced more than the usual 3-1/2 to seven-year maximum sentence because of the girl's age and his prior record, Assistant Hillsborough County Attorney Patricia LaFrance said. Hammond previously was convicted of at least three previous sexual assaults against children in Florida and Pennsylvania, in 1973, 1979 and 1987, LaFrance said. Wel

Gerard Schlaiss gets deja vu

Gerard Schlaiss must be experiencing deja vu, well either that or he is still the deviant predator he was two decades ago. For the sake of honesty- I'm going to say that a leopard can't change his spots, and Schlaiss is what he is, and what he has always been. According to prosecutors, Schlaiss molested a mentally disabled girl who lived in his apartment complex over a three-year period leading up to his arrest in September. In 1989, Schlaiss was convicted of aggravated criminal sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl in Lake County, according to the Illinois Sex Offender Registry Web site. He was 33 years old at the time of the abuse. Just another instance proving that sex offenders don't stop.

Robert A. Smith goes to pubs...

...and evidently likes to do illegal things while he's there. Police say that the 53-year-old registered sex offender Robert Smith was at a pub in Belleville when he put his hands up the skirt of a 12 year old girl. Others at the pub noticed and informed a bartender who kicked Smith out before police were contacted. According to a press release, police were able to locate Smith because witnesses knew he was a painter from Tennessee, and that he was staying at a nearby hotel. Smith has been arrested for sexual-based crimes "several" times in Tennessee, where he is a registered sex offender, according to a police statement. He did not register once he relocated to Belleville. I'm amazed that those who witnessed this encounter stopped to tell the bartender, rather than actually physically stepping in and stopping Smith themselves.

Jared Harris Update

I've talked about Jared Harris before , but for those of you who have forgotten- he's the young man who artfully covered the forehead of Anthony Stockelman (child molester and killer of Katie Collman) in a simple, yet insightful tattoo that read "Katie's Revenge". Jared was Katie's older cousin, and had been doing time in Wabash Correctional Facility for petty charges. After the news of the tattoo was out in the media, Jared was charged for it. His court date has been postponed and postponed almost endlessly since 2006. Now, the latest news is that the charges against him have been dropped : An inmate at the Wabash Valley Correctional Facility will not go to trial for tattooing another inmate's forehead. [...] Stockelman is now refusing to testify against Harris, so the case isn't moving forward. Now, normally I believe that those who commit a crime are deserving of being punished for it. But- given the special circumstances in this case, I've had

Effingham not happy...

I told you about Effingham , the place named in honor of it's incompetent law enforcement agency. Folks there were rightly unhappy with the fact that a Deputy there was giving some lovin to a convicted child molester by way of not only defending said scum bag, but testifying on his behalf. In a warm and fuzzy display of BFF, Effingham County Chief Deputy took the stand on his buddy the child molesters behalf- saying he was just too shy to attend required group sex offender meetings, and that special rules should be made for him. Nice. Of course, when called out about testifying, Bush defended his actions by saying something all sweet about how just cause Kenneth Brown was a child molester didn't mean that we should lock them up.... cause we need to get to know them for the person they are. Right. One has to really sit back and wonder if Bush would be taking the very same stand had the victim been HIS child. Today's new news on Effingham has some local residents in a mood o

Jason A. Williams ges to jail....

... for a very long time. A man convicted of raping and beating an elderly woman is going to prison for at least the next 3 decades. Douglas County District Court judge Michael Coffey this morning sentenced Jason A. Williams to a minimum of 54 years...and a maximum sentence of 61 years. His victim was an 83 year old mother who died a year later. At this point- I believe that jail is just to good for him. Stoning anyone?

Ted Jensen cries

Ted Jensen thinks things are unfair. Not all things-after all the convicted sex offender had no issues at all when it came to the 'fairness' of him molesting a child, for which he was convicted of one count of vicarious sexual gratification and one count of child molesting and spent a few years in jail, and a few years on probation. Nope, he had no qualms about the fairness, or lack of, when it comes to his own actions. And, Richard Wallace, who plead guilty in 1989 to child molesting clearly didn't stop to ponder the fairness of his crime on behalf of the victim. Now, years later- fairness seems to be top dog in their list of things to start bitching about, and their lawyer is pleading their cries of 'this ain't fair' all the way up the courthouse steps. A man convicted of sex crimes against a child is challenging the constitutionality of a state statute that retroactively broadened a law regarding Indiana's sex offender registry. America's Most Wanted, Celebration Edition

This is a very special week, not only for America's Most Wanted but for the millions of people who have tuned in every week, and the thousands of victims who have been helped by having their case featured on the program. Capturing 1000 bad guys is a great milestone, and something we all should be proud of. Since AMW will be featuring that capture this Saturday at 9pm, make sure your TV is set to your local Fox station, where you'll be able to join in the celebration. Now, onto this weeks highlighted cases, that will be aired during the special episode: Dwight Smith/1000 th Capture : After 21 seasons of television crime fighting, America's Most Wanted has announced that accused killer Dwight Smith -- a NYC real estate agent who cops say killed his friend over a deal -- has become the show's 1,000th direct result capture. http://www.amw.com/fugitives /brief.cfm?id=52753 Paul Eischeid: The A.T.F. and police in Tempe, Ariz. have charged outlaw biker Paul Eischeid

And then I realised why Effingham was so properly named...

There's a town called Effingham. I couldn't imagine why on earth any town would want to be called anything that resembles 'effing'- seeing how so many people use that term in short for 'fucking'. And then I read the story about the Sheriff's deputy. And it hit me right then and there- they call it Effingham to warn the rest of us just how fucking screwed up their law enforcement is there. At this moment I wish to remind readers that 99 times out of 100 I love, adore and respect law enforcement officials, and I find disrespect of them completely unacceptable- accept when they flat out deserve it. And this time around, I don't even have to hesitate prior to calling *someone* in this story a effingham (ie, fucking *pig). Here's the quote that takes the cake on the list of worst quotes ever from people in uniform: Chief Deputy Bush says Brown has been seeking help but the group setting was tearing him apart, "I mean, he's gone through enough a

Thomas Brownlee

Thomas Brownlee likes to drink. And evidently he likes to drink so much, he feels it's okay to show up to work drunk. Thankfully, he doesn't have a very important job, so he didn't think tipping a few glasses of his favorite alcoholic beverage before popping in to work was anything to think twice about. Oddly enough, his employers don't seem to see things the same way- and had the drunk arrested, after another employee and a few students complained. Yep, I said students. Cause Brownlee's job that he showed up to with " slurred speech, breath smelling of an alcoholic beverage and bloodshot eyes " was as a substitute teacher for Richardson school district in Texas. A substitute middle school teacher suspected of being drunk in class was too intoxicated to complete a sobriety test and was arrested, authorities said. Thomas Brownlee, 56, was in a classroom Tuesday with students and another staff member for about 20 minutes, Richardson school district spokesma

No wonder DHS has such problems...

Everyone can recall at least one case in recent history where a child protective service case worker dropped the ball (or never bothered to pick up to start with) which resulted in injury or death of the child they are charged with protecting. We can find cases of overzealous case workers who seem to follow a set of rules that entices them to take kids first, ask questions last. We've all questioned just what sort of people these agencies are hiring- especially after reading one case or another than seems to have neon flashing lights pointing out that the system we entrust to protect our most valuable assets - our children- is failed. After reading a case Washington about a child services case worker who is currently facing criminal charges, I'm afraid that any hopes I'd had for improvements to the system are doomed. A former Washington state social worker has been accused of faking brain cancer to avoid work. Theft charges were filed Tuesday against 40-year-old Sandra D

Timothy Christian Schlafer

Eighteen year old Timothy Christian Schlafer has landed himself in a bit of trouble after attempting to kidnap an 11 year old girl from her bed as she slept in her home in Florida. According to police, Schlafer broke into a home in the 8700 block of Northwest 40th Street early Wednesday morning. Police said Schlafer was carrying the girl down the stairs toward the front door when the victim's grandmother woke up and yelled at him to put her down. Perhaps he should consider changing his MySpace status from mischievous to 'locked up'.

A HUGE Welcome

Sometimes, we need a little sweetness to balance out all the evil posted here. And, tonight- I've got all the sweetness one could ever need. John, from Stop the ACLU has the best of news- he's a VERY VERY proud daddy now. I couldn't be happier for him, and seriously- other than my own- I don't think I've seen a cuter baby.

BillBoards

The Department of Health of Miss, is requesting more funding for more bill boards. DHS said the big signs are supposed to act as red flags to raise awareness of sex crimes against children. They believe displaying the mugshots of convicted sex offenders sends a warning to offenders. Seriously love the idea. And while at this time, the cost is covered by a fee on birth certificates, there is nothing saying that other people couldn't donate some funds too. Tammy Chmela goes on a field trip

For most parents, attending a school field trip wouldn't be a be deal. For Tammy Chmela, it is. During a recent school trip in which her child road the bus to the destination, Chmela showed up in her own vehicle. The problem is that Chmela is a registered sexual offender. Sheriff said the woman, Tammy Chmela, 38, did not have the needed permission to attend the event and that a principal spoke with her about it after the fact. Chmela admitted to having sex with two teenage males in 2004. She was sentenced to five years probation in the case. "She has to have approval of an administrative officer of the school district to be there," Sheriff said. Sheriff said authorities told him there was no violation of the law and no legal action is expected to be taken. When asked if this were a case of a procedure "falling through the cracks," Sheriff said, "It's unfortunate, but what I can ascertain, that's the way I would describe it." [...] "Any ind

Selling your home?

I've mentioned before the case of a neighborhood in which a sex offender lives, and how others believe that his presence has lowered the value of their home. They've attempted to get their property taxes lowered based on the fact that the value of their house has declined. I've even discussed a case with a friend where a group of neighbors have opted to sue their neighbor who is currently allowing a sex offender to live with them, because his presence has made it harder to sell homes in the family oriented neighborhood. Some people will argue that having a sex offender move in next door doesn't effect the value of your home. That they've served their time and should be welcomed back into society- even if their new home sits in the middle of the homes of a dozen kids. Well, now when you hear how these sex offenders don't effect anything- you can say bullshit. One study found that a sex offender within one-tenth of a mile of your home makes your house sell for a

Daniel Callan, Teacher, Mentor, Child Molester

Daniel Callan, 25 must have thought he'd landed in heaven. He was a teacher- giving him unlimited access to children, and then he signed up to be a mentor with Big Brothers, Big Sisters- for which he volunteered for as a mentor for four months. Police say Callan sexually abused one of his fifth-grade students at Appleton's St. Bernadette Elementary School. The student, a 10-year-old boy, reported Daniel Callan, 25, of Menasha. Callan is charged with two counts of indecent exposure, one count of first-degree sexual assault and causing a child to view sexual activity, stemming from alleged incidents on April 1 and May 5. He is due to appear Wednesday in Outagamie County Circuit Court. Statements made in court have indicated Callan does not have a record. Tracey Jenks, executive director of Big Brothers Big Sisters, said Friday that Callan was matched with a child as a volunteer mentor through Big Brothers Big Sisters from Nov. 29, 2005, to March 14, 2006. Honestly, I'd have

Can You Think of a Better Kid Magnet, If You Were a Sex Offender?

That's the question of the moment for a Florida prosecutor, responding to some state and local governments lean towards banning sexual offenders from driving Ice Cream Trucks. California, Massachusetts and In Rapid City, S.D either have or are reviewing the prospect of creating laws that would bar sex offenders from operating ice cream trucks. fforts to keep predators out of ice cream trucks gained momentum in 2004, when Eduardo Grau of Troy, N.Y., 56, was arrested after police said he offered rides in his ice cream truck to children and abused a 9-year-old girl. The case spurred the 2005 New York state law. Grau eventually pleaded guilty to first-degree sexual abuse in 2006, according to District Attorney Patricia DeAngelis. Since then, cities including San Antonio and Tucson have passed similar measures. New York appears to have the only statewide restriction, said Sarah Hammond of the National Conference of State Legislatures. Florida Assistant State Attorney Harmon Massey prose

Crappy Mothers Day

While I would gladly wish all my readers a very Happy Mothers Day, it wouldn't be right to overlook the crappy moms out there. So, here's my list of Mothers- to whom I wish a crappy Mother's Day, and a long jail sentence. Sherrie Tomlinson should have been home taking care of the children who she brought into this world. Instead, police say that she opted to go gambling. Siloam Springs police officer Mike Efram was dispatched at 7: 17 p.m. Sunday to West Alpine Circle on a welfare check, according to court documents. Efram noticed a small child entering the residence as he pulled into the driveway; another child was looking out the front window, according to an affidavit in the case. The officer learned that a 9-year-old boy was the child entering the residence, and his 2-year-old sister was looking out the window, according to court documents. The officer asked the boy if anyone was at home with them, and the boy replied," No, I am watching sis while my mom is playing

Michael Carl Felice gets bond

Few people seem happy that alleged serial molester Michael Carl Felice, who was arrested and charged with multiple counts of molestation of a juvenile, sexual battery and indecent behavior with a juvenile, is out on bond. Even worse is that victims were not given proper notification that he was released . Concerned Citizen Trinity Thomas says, "Oh, I'm extremely worried. It scares the heck out of me." Concerned citizen Rhonda Newman lives near where Felice is staying at 228 Clifford Felice Road. "I woke up this morning and looked out my door and he's standing in his front yard looking across the street and things like that and I was terrified because I know what he went to jail for, and I don't want my daughter around that. I sent her out to the school bus this morning not knowing that he was out of jail." These concerned mothers say Felice was let out of jail on bond without any notice at all to the victims. Michael Lee McBeth goes online, then goes to jail

Michael Lee McBeth isn't just lacking patience, he's also lacking that little bit of brain cells which prevent people from being sickos. Police say that McBeth has been arrested after having sexually explicit conversations with an undercover officer who he believed was just 12 years old. According to a press release from Attorney General Tom Corbett, McBeth allegedly used a chat room to approach an undercover agent who was using the online profile of a 12-year-old girl. Almost immediately, Corbett said, McBeth asked the girl, "would you let a guy see you nude?" A criminal complaint also states that McBeth sent the undercover agent a sexually explicit photograph and engaged in sexually graphic discussion, detailing what he was interested in. Almost immediately, huh? Bet his momma is proud.

Sex Offender

More proof that unlike domesticated animals- wild animals can't really be trained to behave. A convicted sex offender was arrested Wednesday on charges that he tried raping his 82-year-old neighbor last month. Police say 49-year-old Joseph Von Britton broke into the woman's home on Middletown Avenue before dawn on April 27 and covered her face with a pillow and blanket, police said. DNA evidence left at the scene lead investigators Von Britton, police said. He is charged with criminal attempt to commit first-degree sexual assault, first-degree unlawful restraint and first-degree burglary. Here's an idea.... STOP LETTING THEM OUT OF JAIL. Seriously, how hard is that concept, and why can't law makers grasp it?
