Air Force Col. Philip Michael Shue 48 Hours Mystery

AN AIR FORCE COLONEL IS KILLED IN A CAR ACCIDENT, BUT HIS DEATH GIVES RISE TO QUESTIONS AND CONTROVERSY ABOUT THE BIZARRE CIRCUMSTANCES SURROUNDING THE CRASH 48 HOURS MYSTERY – SATURDAY, MARCH 28 In the spring of 2005, two years after losing his life in a violent car crash near San Antonio, Texas, Air Force Col. Philip Michael Shue was laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery. But while his widow, Tracy, accepted the traditional tri-folded American flag in his honor, the circumstances surrounding Col. Shue’s death were anything but traditional. The cause of death was never in dispute. Col. Shue had suffered fatal brain injuries as a result of the crash. But exactly what led to this accident was beyond curious. Shue’s chest had a large gash, both his nipples had been removed and duct tape was wrapped around both his wrists and his boots. This accident turned into a bizarre case, one that would launch several investigations, by the military, the Texas Range

Who's the true hero?

Officer John Hege served Oakland California, getting up everyday to put on his uniform and work the streets serving those he swore to protect. And even after his death, Officer John Hege has touched the lives of countless others. SOURCE Oakland police Officer John Hege saved four lives by having his organs donated after being fatally shot in the line of duty Saturday, according to the California Transplant Donor Network. Hege's organ donations saved the lives of four Californians and his tissue donation will enhance the lives of as many as 50 other people, according to the network. The network released a statement saying "we know those who are receiving his gifts thank him and his family with gratitude and a shared sense of loss at his passing. "All of us at the California Transplant Donor Network thank Officer Hege for these generous gifts, and on behalf of the more than 21,000 Californians who desperately wait for the gift of life from those like Officer Hege," th

Eugene Snitily

Eugene Snitily's lawyer believes the sentence he received for molesting his 4 year old granddaughter is too harsh, so he's considering appealing it. While that's not unusual, because no one ever thinks their sentence is fair, I think this lawyer might just be trying to redefine the term "harsh". After all, two years probation barely even hints at being a real punishment. The judge in the case, who served on the March of Dimes board with Snitily in 1981 believed the sentenced was justified, and "said it was appropriate in light of the guilty verdict. He said Judge Randall relied on psychological testing and expert assessments. "The court made the decision that Mr. Snitily is at very low risk of acting out in any sexual manner." Meanwhile, the County Attorney also plans on appealing the sentence, stating " "We felt that sentence was inappropriate and excessively lenient so therefore, I'm filing an appeal."" The girl's mothe

Eight years vs possible 25?

To make it clear, I don't condone any abuse of animals. I understand the seriousness of abusive crimes against animals. I do. Yet, it's hard for me to grasp just how we can justify sending two teenagers to jail for 25 years for torturing a cat, yet we're suppose to be okay with the fact that molesting a child is only worth 8 years. I'm not saying that what was done to the cat isn't horrific, I'm just saying that I believe what was done to a 7 year old girl was worse- in that one is an animal, one is a child. Two teenagers could spend 25 years in prison for allegedly torturing and killing a cat they set on fire when they broke into an apartment in New York City. Angelo Monderoy, 18, and Matthew Cooper, 17, allegedly broke into a vacant apartment in Brooklyn, N.Y., on or around Oct. 7, 2008. Kings County District Attorney Charles J. Hynes said the pair held the cat down as they poured charcoal lighter fluid on it. Hynes said they then set the animal on fire, caus
